They just simply don’t have anywhere to send him yet. Don’t sweat it, it’s common. What’s his rate (job)?

Edit:
Corpsman (medic) – That’s respectable.

If he just finished A school he is probably going to go through marine infantry school next.

He is probably going to wind up shipping out to the front lines in Iraq or Afghanistan. I don’t say this to scare you but, to set you up for reality. Stand by your man and support him and tell him to keep his head down.

it's spelled Corpsman, otherwise known as HM. and yes, it s perfectly normal to not have orders in hand until the day he graduates or even later. this is especially true if a C school will be involved. and as a male, the chances of him being sent to FMSS are very high.

Believe me, when it comes time for him to go, he will go. As a Marine I sometimes did not actually receive paper orders until I was getting on the plane to leave a duty station.

He will be assigned to T-3468..if he graduates Oct 5th 2007. He will have to serve under Tomas T. Orman, he's a good commander and I highly recommed him. He will have a better bunk than he has now, he will get new shoes and socks and will have a pay raise of 11.67% If he does well he'll be transfered to Maryland and have a new best friend named Jim tucker...they will go to a bar called Franks place and play pool and drink beer and hit on chicks...they will go back to the base every night around 10:34 pm except for Saturday night where they come home at 2:56 am...and sh it faced.

They like to drop the bad news of where he is going to be sent the day of graduation.

Happened to me, happened to my buddy in the Army Airborn.

Don't worry they will ship him somewhere.
