It is a nice thought, one that goes against the teachings of JESUS CHRIST.
"Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his fahter, a daughter against her mother..." - MATTHEW Chapter 10

There is a little more to it than that. Believers are commanded by the Bible to go and preach and teach and baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Then we are told that when we enter a home, we should witness to those who are there and will listen. If the turn their backs on the words you say, you should leave the house, shake the dust off your feet and go witness somewhere else.
We are told not to stand in the path of sinners and not to sit in the seat of the scornful. We are told not to let an unbeliever into our home. We are called to be set apart from the rest of the world.
That does not leave much room to have a relationship with an unbeliever. We can witness to them until we see if they are accepting of what we say, but we are not to fellowship with those who refuse to believe.
We are to preach the gospel by our actions, but then no one was ever won over to Jesus by actions alone.
I don't consider Christians to be near as confrontational as the Atheists on this forum however.
WWJJ, you must note that it says NUNS which only reflects badly on the RCC. The Christian missionaries I know would never ask someone to give their lives to Christ before they help them. It is through helping them that you earn the right to tell them about Jesus and ask if they wish to receive Him.

not something is stressful to understand there. yet you have not made a element. Are you truly so ignorant to have faith that the "libs" do not choose democracy in Iraq? for sure they do. Liberals carry person sovereignty and Liberties on the utmost point...or do you not understand that liberals have been given their label from the affection of Liberties? the subject people who do not help the war have is they understand that the U. S. does not arise with the money for, time, or protection rigidity ability to "win" in Iraq. this ability we can gain purely killing 1000's greater harmless civilians in Iraq, and US troops with the top effect being the precise comparable because of the fact the present mess...purely like Vietnam.

I yearn for the day when people can respect others, and different paths.
When I post that on Y!A, and do so in a way that is very respectful, I still get almost as many thumbs-down as i do thumbs-up. That speaks volumes.
Too many people would rather be "right" than be respectful. You can't have a true concensus when some insist it's their way or no way.

This is something that I have concerend of greatly as of late, and I have been guilty of this myself especially so, the divide between the hard nosed fundamentalist Atheist and the same like attitude of many 'militant' Christians is getting worse, the Christian message of spreading the gospel through love and compassion seems to be 'getting lost' in all the partisan attitude put through by both sides, and this does concern me.
But in all that, and perhaps more, I know this, wether anyone chooses to believe it or not, God is in control and His plan will be carried out despite those who would object, but this message must be preached in Love and compassion and respect and not through violence and anger and all that.

Villagers furious with Missionaries:
Jubilant at seeing the relief trucks loaded with food, clothes and the much-needed medicines the villagers, many of who have not had a square meal in days, were shocked when the nuns asked them to CONVERT before distributing biscuits and water.

Certainly in a perfect world, this is the ideal. We do not, however - as you know, live in a perfect world. It's a fallen world.
Look at the wars fought over differences, be they religious or otherwise.
We're human, thus unlikely to be fully accepting and at peace with all around us...unfortunately.
Where will you spend eternity?
Read Romans.

Not all views are worthy of respect. I have no respect for Mother Theresa because she trotted the globe, smiling at cameras and accepting huge donations for her church, while the people she was supposedly "helping" had to bear the brunt of her hysterical mania for suffering and martyrdom. I have no respect for public religious figures because, at the end of the day, they're all opportunists who have risen to power by exploiting the gullible. I have no respect for fundamentalists because they pride themselves on their ignorance and credulity. I refuse to accept hypocrisy, opportunism, and ignorance just because I'm supposed to be tolerant of other people's beliefs.

You see something of the same thing among sports fans and people who tie their identity to a particular political party.
Those who make it all about my religion is right and everybody else is wrong only show that they worship religion instead of worshiping God.
We must keep God at the center of our lives, not religion.

actions speak louder than words,it is my belief that to many feel they get their pride wounded and try fighting back and many are to vicious by belittiling God which then in turn causes people to retaliate//words can be sharper than any two-edged sword
