Is it true that Jehovah's winesses believe that when they sneeze they are releasing the evil from themselves?

This is what I was told by a Jehovah's witness. It isn't a dumb question. What's dumb is participating to answer with a dumb- a s s comment in place of an answer.

I just Googled it and even an anti-JW site says that they believe that such an idea is "pagan" and they don't even say "bless you."

No its not true to your first question. And where did you get that idea? But your last one about being created.......You should read the Bible or better yet go to http://www.watchtower.org. Read all the articles that the Brothers and Sisters put here to help you understand!

Yes that's the best one I've heard also!
And FYI I sneeze alot (20 times or more at once) at home or at the Hall. Many of the Brothers or Sisters don't even have to look to see who it is because they know its me. One time a visiting brother, who was giving a talk, stopped in the middle of it while I was sneezing. That was embarrassing.

Whoever told you that was either kidding or should have done a little research themselves. I am a witness and have been my entire life and that's the first time I have ever heard that.
But no, its not a stupid question your right! A lot of times there are some VERY strange things that are said about us and others faith. And everyone believes very different things at times so you can honestly never tell what is true or not without asking : )
But as someone said earlier, we do not believe in ANYTHING superstitious or luck or anything of that nature. So if anyone tells you any different, youll know from now on that its not true. : )

No that is not true at all. Jehovah's Witnesses are one the few who do NOT believe in superstitution and that is why you will never hear one say "God Bless You" when someone sneezes, because they do NOT believe the superstitution that when you sneeze something evil leaves your body.

I'm sure the Witness was just telling why we don't say "God Bless You" because of the superstition and you misunderstood completely!

Through health science we all know why we sneeze.

I agree with "Cathy". JW do not believe that and I have never heard someone say it before. It IS a pagan belief. Maybe some JWs say it, but do not mean to. We do not beleive that we are releasing the evil from within, because we do not have a soul; we are a soul.
