This is the first journey in my life and would like to get some tips and advice from Regular travelers to Thailand. I have to gather some experience before leaving, that you had when traveling and after. what are the most interesting places that you enjoyed. If you can give some fabulous tourist spots, the famous beach, Shopping, etc.. that will be good enough. I'll be there for 2 weeks.

earlier i made the wrong question, I'm Very sorry about that one.

Thank you

Plenty of guide books apart from Lonely Planet ... for example

www.travelfish.org
www.talesofasia.com
www.virtualtourist.com

Then you have a ton of websites with "personal experiences", for example

http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/travel.html
http://phil.uk.net/thailand/tourist.html

I found that the best site for Thailand is

www.thaiwebsites.com

Depending on your interest, it covers most anything you want to learn about.

Bangkok:
Shopping: MBK Center or Central World Plaza or Platinum Mall, see www.bangkok.com for more info.
Tourist spot: Chao Phraya River and the Grand Palace

Beaches: See Phuket, Koh Phi, Koh Ngan or Pattaya or Rayong.

Other tourist spots, Chiang Mai, Ayutthaya, Hua Hin, Krabi, maybe Pattaya.

2 weeks is a short time. 3 days or more in Bangkok is good, 3 or more days in Phuket and it takes almost a whole day to travel to Chiang Mai unless you fly. That would give you 3 diverse and different places in Thailand that should be fun.

Well, I think any guidebook will tell you enuf information abt the sights etc and that is where you should start - Thailand is quite varied and you should pick an area of interest to you. The beaches are lovely - but the real attraction for most of us here is the Thai people themselves. They are unique - enjoy your travels.

get yourself a copy of Rough Guide to thailand and follow some of their suggestions, which are very honest and informative. There is so much to do and see,so it very much depends on your interests. There are the obvious places like bangkok itself, chiang mai, phuket, koh samui, phi phi but also less worn paths to follow.....2 weeks isn't really long enough, but never mind you will be back again
