I think they like that "head buried in the sand" method. Great way to stay ignorant. Of course to everyone else they look like morons.

I do not think it is a hoax, but I know all too well the reasons of those few skeptics.
Reason #1. Hey, the seasons still come and go -spring, summer, winter, fall. How can you say there is global warming when the winter's I've seen are just as cold and snowy as any I've ever seen.
Debunking reason #1. Well, that is true for the most part - where you live. But if that were true on a global scale, you wouldn't have glaciers and ice caps that have never melted in thousands of years suddenly disappearing at an accelearated rate. And they're not coming back. True, the winter returns every year and the ice caps refreeze every winter, but there is not enough precipitation to replenish these glaciers and ice caps - and due to global warming - more of these ice masses, both in the sea and above ground, melt each summer and are not reforming. See you in sunny Greenland, Iceland, Scandinavia, Siberia, and Alaska!!!!
Reason #2. All those scientists are just wrong.
Debunking reason #2. All those scientists can't all be wrong, and in addition to that, a lot of regular people are first hand witnesses to global warming and its effects.
Reason #3. The earth is just too big to be effected by man.
Debunking reason #3. It is a fact that most of the world's great forests have already been or are in the process of being cut down. The forests helped cool the earth. No more forests, no more cooling. It's as simple as that. At some point the world's nations are going to have to find a way to bring back the great forests and find other ways to grow their economies or face continuing and greater disasters.
Reason #4. The warming of the planet is a natural occurrence, man has nothing to do with it.
Dubunking reason #4. Well we already know that a certain percentage is natural and a certain percentage, especially pollution like CO2 emissions, is man-made. So, humans certainly aren't helping the situation. Unfortunately, the disasterous effects of this are supposedly only beginning, so it's relatively easy and may appear somewhat smarter to deny that global warming exists. However, the more global disasters that occur are going to make it more difficult and appear less intelligent to say that global warming is a hoax.
These are only four reasons a few think G.W is a hoax. I've answered a lot of questions recently in support of reversing global warming and realizing that global warming is real. Please feel free to peruse my other answers and find some great responses by other responders to why global warming should be considered a serious threat to our existence and should be reversed if at all possible.

Global warming is not a hoax. The climate is changing and that's a fact. The question being raised is whether or not it is natural or man-made. Only time will tell the true fact of this and with that being said I'm to tired to give reasoning on both accounts...

The Earth has been warming up since the last ice age. The Vikings farmed on Iceland 400 years ago, the same country that is under Ice now.
One main reason many people consider it a hoax is back in the 1970s "scientists" were saying we were headed for another Ice age. What will they say 3 decades from now?
Another reason is given all the accurate, up to date, real time flowing satelite images, how come "scientists" can only predict a 50% chance of rain today but they expect me to believe 100% what will happen 100 years form now?

I believe that it's a hoax. The claim that the temperature is hotter than it was a hundred years ago is absurd. We base the weather on the technology that we have today, the technology wasn't available a hundred years ago. The records that they use to make their claim is useless because years ago they didn't keep accurate records and again the thermometers etc. weren't as accurate as it is today. Today even with the technology we can't go back in time and find what the temperature was at the artic circle etc. This is nothing more than a myth or a hoax, call it what ever you want. Global Warming hasn't been proven and they haven't taken the time to give long term studies. OMG they take more time doing environmental impact studies before they build a road than they have in studying global warming. The list goes on and on. They have never explained why there was an ice age. They now want to tax gasoline because of global warming. People are buying and selling carbon footprints, how hypocritical is that. People are making money off of it. Those of us who do not believe in global warming aren't uneducated fools as people claim. We aren't naive enough to believe everything that people tell us and accept it as fact. I'm finished now, have a nice day.....................................Edit: The question asked is for people who believe that global warming is a hoax and their reasons why they believe that it's a hoax...The question isn't for those who believe in global warming.

Global warming is a hoax! The liberals are using it as a scare tactic. Don't be pulled in by their lies! Do you really think that the earth is any warmer than it was 2000 years ago??? I don't think so!!!

I don't think anyone believes it's a hoax. I think they believe it is happening but do not want to admit to it. They want to keep making money and a lot of people like the weather hot, not matter what it's doing to the Earth.

Only a few think it is actually a hoax. Most skeptics just think it is natural and man has little to do with it. The truth is probably somewhere in between. We shall see. Or our great great grandchildren will see.

A hoax implies an intent to defraud. I don't see that. I do, however, see a consistent readiness to draw conclusions that are not supported by the data. There really is one fundamental requirement for anthropogenic global warming. That is for elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration to be responsible for elevated global mean temperatures. The Vostok ice core data indicates that that fundamental requirement does not exist.
Note that post-peak temperature/CO2 levels show a consistent behavior where the mean temperature falls in advance of CO2 levels. This is undeniable evidence that elevated CO2 levels do not produce elevated mean temperatures. If they did, then the temperatures would remain elevated until the CO2 levels dropped.
There is one global effort to mitigate global warming, and that effort is the reduction of human-sourced carbon dioxide emissions. In the absence of scientific data supporting the fundamental requirement that elevated CO2 levels cause elevated global temperatures, such an effort is doomed to failure. Even stronger, the scientific data supplied by Vostok ice cores goes further than just not supporting the fundamental requirement, it actively contradicts its existence and, therefore, compels the conclusion that the only proposed mitigation effort cannot be effective.
