The Ctrl key on the left side will not copy, it will paste, but not copy, if I copy with the right, I can paste with the left. I just can't copy and paste with the left side alone. The right side works fine. It is not the key board, I JUST BOUGHT A NEW ONE AFTER THIS STARTED HAPPENING thinking that would fix the proble. Same thing. What could be causing this? Is this something that is caused by an error? I am spooked that whatever caused this will manifest other problems. I have Norton and I have run scans and come up clean. Thanks.

If CTRL + V will insert (paste), then the problem is not the control key.
What about Ctrl + X to cut? or Ctrl + O for Open? Does it not work in all programs, or just one program?
Use process of elimination.
If all these work except Ctrl + C for copy then probably the shortcut key has been reassigned, which is my hunch.
