A very good question, one that most Christians will not ask. The fact that the bible was written 1850-1900 yrs ago seems to be lost on them, society as a whole was much different, they lived their lives according to myths and magic, take alook at the myth of King Arthur, this is a myth that has circulated since the 6C, that is six hundred years after the death of Christ. The fact that alot of people, including Christians refer to Arthur as a story not fact is quite Ironic, when they think that everything in the bible is truth.

People were brilliant in those days, so much science philosophy.... if anything today's folks seem less informed or care to really research facts these days. I believe that the Bible was a holy book however I am in doubt if it is in its original form. The reason I said this was because there were many other books that did not make it to the Bible’s scriptures. Study about Constantine and the Nicene Council and you will find out about how the bible was put together. The Sheperd of Hermas is another good work to study. I believe that the Quran was God's final word. The Quran explains much of the Bible.

Here's the thing.... it's been translated how many times to get to where it is now, the translators at each translation are human and prone to err (therefore divine... lol), they were influenced by their current society and it's beliefs (both spiritual and political), not to mention likely all by the male sex. What if they left off things they didn't find appropriate for the times? What if things were changed because in their view God actually meant something slightly different than what they were translating?

With all of this said, how can people take each word (some of which could be literally lost in translation) as if spoken directly from God?

I'm NOT bashing anyone's beliefs, do good and love your fellow humans. The examples are positive messages on being a better person for ourselves and others. Just remember, from the moment they were written, it was done by humans. Humans are not perfect no matter what we may think.

Yes, so very sure because theres nothing to prove. It has been proven many times over from the 4 main sources of truth which are Religion, Science, History and Philosophy in their glorious harmony that the Bible is true. If the Bible is just an invention of good men or angels, its impossible because they can not make or write a book telling lies all the time saying: "Thus saith the Lord God" when it was just their invention. And it could not be also the invention of bad men or devils because they could not make a book which commands all duty, forbids commiting sins, and even condemns their own souls to hell for all eternity.

It's like following the instructions you get when assembling some miserable toy you bought your child for Christmas...only AFTER you get into it will you know if the instructions for assembly are coherent and accurate. In the middle of it all, you may discover that you misunderstood the instructions and have to take something apart to re-build it over.
But eventually, you will see the toy coming together in a way that makes sense. In the end, after having worked through the instructions, you can make sense out of what before had only been a complicated mess and a pile of parts.
Put a short way- if you act on what you know, you will know if it's true or not.

when Jesus came to earth He did not bring a book, He spoke to people directly.

before His crucifixion He left his church in the care of the apostle peter (matthew 16:18).

peter maintained Christ's ministry (which was a ministry of the spoken word) and in time the church which peter founded decided which of the scriptural writings should become the gospel, and which should be discarded. (the main determination of canonical books of the bible was at the synod of hippo in 393).

we know that the bible as we have it is gospel because the roman catholic church chose those books. and it was the roman catholic church which Jesus left on earth, not a book.

this is why all protestant churches use the catholic bible (the one which was decided at the synod of hippo, by catholics).

U just know, the things they say, even if yes the do have tons errors, accuracy in meaning makes a TRUE gospel a few words might be off, but isn't that way Jo Smith translated it?

You can't. The bible was passed down by word of mouth for over 300 years before it was written down. (have you ever heard the same story twice in the same day? let alone after many generations have twisted the story?)
