if you reject the salvation (although you accepted it before), and die in that state, and go to your final judgment in that state, you wont be saved. if you accept that salvation of your deathbed, you still have to pay for your sins no matter what. thats why there is purgatory.
also, it is not for us to judge but for God.

That phrase is also the same as 'once saved, always saved.' It's one of the five points of Calvinism: Perseverance of the Saints. It simply means that once a person is genuinely saved, then he or she can not loose that salvation. There's nothing that he or she can do that will make them loose it.
The logic is like this: there is nothing that we can do to earn salvation. There are not enough good deeds to make up for the sin with have committed against a Holy and Just God. Therefore, salvation is purely by grace through faith (Ephesians). Therefore, since we have done nothing to earn it, we cannot do anything to loose it.
The next question that typically comes up is: then do I have permission to sin, since I'm not held accountable to it. This question is answered in Romans 6. We do not have permission to sin and those that are truly born again Christians will not want to. 1 John talks about how those that love God will love the things of God and not love the things that are not of God. Desires change; we are transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ (Romans 12:1-2).
Those that claim to have lost their salvation and die in that state weren't truly saved in the beginning. Maybe they only had the appearance of salvation, or claimed to believe but not genuinely.

"As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."

It's not possible to remain saved JUST BECAUSE you're saved! The Apostle Paul was quoted as saying that we're ALL apt or liable to sin. All includes EVERYONE regardless of how long you've been saved! If we don't MAINTAIN our salvation with prayer, worship and OBEDIENCE, we can very easily fall back into sin. Remember, though we may be saved, we're still HUMAN and subject to temptation.

It's the once saved always saved ideology.
I've found the many people confuse the fact of accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as savior and "living" the saved life as one entity.
Yes, we are to live our lives as Christ commands that said, when we fall in our daily walk, does that mean that our Lord crawled down off the cross? Does that mean because "we" fail his sacrifice didn't happen? NO! No matter what we as people do or don't do, NOTHING can or will change what the Lord has done for us. He died for you, you and you!
Christ didn't have to do it but he DID!

I believe it to be a true statement. I believe you can leave the fellowship of God and Jesus, but Jesus doesn't lose salvation. King David only lost his joy. Peter denied Christ and repented of that sin, but did not lose salvation. Salvation belongeth unto the Lord. He gives us if we ask him. Eph. 1:13-We are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption.

Is it possible for a born again believer to renounce their belief in God and their salvation? Of course it is.
For instance, let's look at Sam Kinnison. He was a preacher that renounced his salvation.
So, the question is: Was he ever saved, or did he change his mind?
For the "once saved always saved" crowd, they would say that he was never saved, despite the fact that he led many to God, preached the word, and had works.
So, what happens?
Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit happens.
God's gift of Salvation is not taken away by God, but the individual gives it back.
It is kind of like this: A believer hears the word, accepts the word and is saved (prays the sinner's prayer). He continues his Christian Growth, and peaks. Then, one day, he meets a woman (or something happens in his life), where he stops growing, becomes disinterested in the things of God, and starts to pursue other interests.
Many months later, he gets to the point that he denies the existence of God and says things like "Jesus was never fake".
So, was he ever saved? Or did he renounce his salvation? One thing is certain, it is Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit if he continues down this path until the day he dies.
Now, lets fast forward through his life. On his deathbed, his former pastor shows up: Buddy, will you accept Jesus as your Savior? Buddy says, " God was never real and Jesus is a fake". Buddy dies the moment he finishes.
In this scenario, Buddy dies and goes to Hell.
Now, let's do it again: On his deathbed, his former pastor shows up: Buddy, will you accept Jesus as your Savior? Buddy says, " Jesus, Save ME!" and he dies. In this scenario, I believe that Buddy is saved and goes to heaven.
What then, is the difference? When a person commits blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and never wants to repents, he will not be saved.

It means that once we have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal savior and have gotten saved we can not loose our salvation. In the following Bible passage for the KJV Bible, it says EVERLASTING LIFE? Which means FOREVER. You can't LOOSE your salvation once you have it.
Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

It means this:
A true, born again believer cannot lose their salvation. They are eternally secure in the fact that Christ died & rose again for them. I know that my permanent home is in heaven. I am confident in this......not because of anything I did.....but because of the finished work on the cross. I am a sinner who deserves hell. But because of His grace & mercy.......I'm going to heaven when I leave this world.
Praise God
