i don't think average americans like getting other people killed or sending their sons and daughters to kill others.
they would rather get their tax dollars spent on more important things like improving the economy and health care, and fighting crime within american borders , not creating them overseas.
however they will vote for whoever is powerful enough to look as the best candidate for presidency and you have to thank the media and those who stand behind him to do so.
even the ones who do claim that killing off all those people in iraq and giving terrorists power in iraq and other neighboring nations is justified mostly do it out of ignorance or blind support and loyalty for a misguided government with the help of the media.

American Presidents / presidential aspirants involve God very easily for their wrong doings / sins. The other day it is read in one of Yahoo News alerts that the leading Republican president '08 hopefuls, Rudy Giuliani ,compared the scrutiny of his personal life marked by three marriages to the biblical story of how Jesus dealt with an adulterous woman. Do these great leaders do all the wrong things and attribute to God or invoke Jesus Christ the way it suits their convenience.

I think Americans will vote as they generally do, by considering their interests as they relate to the economy, defense, welfare provisions and so forth.
I think few Republican voters would be deterred by a candidate claiming God told him to do something, though it would handicap a Democratic candidate more (though perhaps it would win some votes from the other side).
I read Bill Clinton' s autobiography a couple of weeks back, and his insight into the campaign trail was fascinating. On every media highlighted issue, they would identify a swing, usually just a couple of percent, for whom that issue was decisive on the day, and place their ads and strategy accordingly.
There are certainly votes to be won by scapegoating a nation and invoking religion. Its happened often enough before.
Not happy thoughts.

Bush was voted into office a second time.
This proves to me that The Dumbing Down of America is NOT a myth, and that an overwhelming number of people here are not only ignorant, but are so willfully.

In my opinion, President Bush is what I call a convenient Christian. He's Christian when it is convenient for him to be so and when it is not convenient to be Christian he throws it out the window. He claims to be saved but I see no evidence of it and the Bible says that you can tell a Christian by their fruit. Where the President is concerned I do not see any fruit that would indicate that he is SAVED.

Sure,
Because most of man's leaders are guilty of self-righteousness. They believe God put them in office.
But Bush was voted in the first time, because Gore was to much of a tight shirt, and people was intimidated.
Bush got in a second time, because Kerry is to wishy-washy.
As sorry as Bush was/is, there just wasn't any one running at the time that could beat him. That's sad isn't it!

I don't participate in political matters or meaningless worldly debates. God's word, the Bible, warns us against mingling in or getting involved with these matters. True Christians do not participate in the tainted and manmade "gubmints".
Most all corrupt politicians always try to throw God into the mix any chance they get. It's blasphemy and I cannot wait until all are destroyed who make up worldly governments and those mingling in them, voting, arguing, and causing separatism and massive chaos including death all over.
Daniel 2: 44 lets us know that these worldly governments will be destroyed and all those mingling in them, and this must be done to make way for God's Heavenly Government to rule over the earth as he intended early on before mankind sinned. Just because Adam and Eve sinned did not mean God gave up on his purpose for the earth and for mankind dwelling upon it.
Trust..

Sure we would. We Americans are the most gullible people on Earth. We believe what our elected officials tell us and the American media tells us what to think.

Let's hope not.
However, you won't go broke catering to the lowest common denominator so don't be surprised if it happens again.

Of course, because a large number of Americans prefer to vote in someone who believes God tells them to go to war, rather than someone who believes there is no god.
