I wouldn't use anything with it except a sony approved device. Anything else could cause electrical damage.

you could but it is not recommended. it could damage your PlayStation. putting extra voltage into your system could damage some of the circuits. and going down in voltage probably wouldnt help much either since it might not supply enough electricity to the system. so find another 8.5 volt and use it.

You would have to change your fuse in the playstation depending on what they put in, usualy its a 12volt fuse they hae inthere but if your not sure then you should not fool around wit it get a 8.5 and so youll be assure that it will work

rule is usually to go down in voltage and not up. You might fry it.
