Questioners often tell us we make them feel uncomfortable, that we judge them, we put them down. Please explain exactly what we are doing. I can go to a party and not drink alcohol because I feel I shouldn't - problems. Go as a designated driver - no problems. What's the difference? Why a problem? I can't drink because I'm gluten sensitive, no problems; don't drink because I don't believe in it - problems.
Explain.

Jathgnos, It is not love to just let you go to hell. We have to tell you but many of us need lessons in 'how'.
John, what don't you think. I've been there and seen that.
Hans, what are we doing that makes you give this answer
Ennoae, Thanks for the hugs but I don't understand.

Thanks JEM, however this questions is aimed at non Christians.
Also, it does not only apply to drinking. It applies to not participating in gossip, pre marital sex, gambling, using bad language, telling or listening to rude jokes etc. We don't participate- so what? How come it makes you feel bad? Do you think it IS wrong - feel guilty? The problem is either you or the activity NOT us.

I know the questions you mean. I often wonder the same myself. The only conclusion I can come to is that many Christians live different lives to others. We all should live like Jesus (not, not in a robe going from place to place preaching). He attracted people. I know He spent too much time "looking" at God to see the faults in those around Him. If we spent more time "looking" at Jesus we would attract people to Him and not drive them away.

I sort of know where you are coming from, but I don't drink because I am a recovering alcoholic. People seem to think that because I dont drink, I feel I am better than them or something... I get a lot of "Don't make me feel bad because I drink." Thats strange to me, because I never say anything bad about drinking to other people!!
I think it boils down to the fact that most people know that drinking is bad, but they want to do it anyways. So when they see someone that has made a conscious decision not to drink, they feel uncomfortable.
And, as to why people say that Christian's dont show love... well, look at YA. So many christians don't show love here, just like so many atheists and muslims and jews and pagans dont show love here. The lack of compassion and respect is terrible, but I try to seperate real christians (the ones who show respect and compassion) from the ones that rant, judge people, and are hateful on here.

I liked your question, it's very interesting.

You sound like a good person, there are some Christians that are rather hateful though. Such as those that will tell us we are going to Hell, and seem to enjoy the thought.. That to me would be like laughing at someone who just found out they had cancer.. Kinda mean.

Because lost people see our giving them the truth as some sort of assault. They can't see that the greatest love I can show any one is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. There is no greater love I can show any one then to give them the life saving truth. They think love is when people say, "Oh, what ever you want to do is just great...no problem." But that's not love. Lost people think that any one who doesn't condone everything they do hates them.
