First of all "Satan" is a Christan concept, not a true being.

Second, Christianity got the whole horn thing from the pagan god Pan. It was another way for the early church to make the peoples old ways look bad and evil, by saying that their god was an evil thing.

It's the same place that the whole devil / goat thing came from. Pan was half goat half man.

In medieval mystery plays, Satan had a giant built-up rear end filled with fireworks, which an imp would light with a torch. The ensuing major Satan farts would delight the medieval audiences, who laughed uproariously at Satan's 'discomfiture.' Of course, sometimes the poor Satan-actor would be badly injured for some cheap laughs which were intended to disempower Satan by engendering hilarity at his appearance and habits. I can't remember whether the farting Satan had horns, oddly enough...

Edit: Rai, that saying is on my backpack; good advice, on the whole!

The reason that the devil is portrayed with horns is because the early pagan gods like Cernunnos and Pan were horned gods, but to turn people away from them the early christians told these followers that their gods were evil this is where the devil omes from so this is why he has horns

Satan does not have horns. This is one of the many tricks cleverly used by the Church during the dark ages to intimidate people into believers.

Best answer I ever heard to this question was from the Drew Carey show, of all places, where the Devil says, "Geez, you have one bad hair day in the thirteenth century and suddenly everyone thinks you have horns!"

Satan doesn't exist.

Angels were never given free will, that is only for human beings. Angels haven't the capacity to rebel against God or anyone, so Lucifer wasn't able to do anything but God's wlil. The whole Lucifer-Satan story is just a story, but didn't actually happen.

Don't know about Satan, but some demons do and others do not. Some even look like humans. There are all kinds of shapes and sizes.

The devil is a spirtual being, so i think if He chooses to appear in a physical form He has some control over what He looks like.

eg. 2 Corinthians 11:14
And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

He's a fallen angel, who destined to burn in hell forever (NOT rule in it, as the media falsely portrays sometimes)

No, that was invented by an early christian artist. He was said to have been an angel with a beautiful voice at one time.
