I would have to say, they are both, meaning Logic and Religion are both contemporary and contradictory. It all depends on your point of view.

The agnostic and the atheist say that no man could have put two of each kind of animal on a boat, such as the ark.

The Christian says, that if it is in Gods word, then it is true.
You have contradiction verses faith. All things in the Bible are not logical to everyone, but they are logical to Christians who believe in the infallible Word of God.

Religion without a logicl foundation will be false and blind faith that woud be contraditing itself and diminishing the bvery value of he concept of God .Every thing in this world is happennig according to some NIYAMA that we are trying to understand gradually step by step.Nothing happens without a cause .
