In general not referring to current administration. Have things really changed since the dark ages even thoug rules are in place and before Geneva Conventions was The Hague Convention 1700's and people believe torture was over didn't it occur again at least in The 1980's and the rules are inored anytim a country powerfull enough wants support torture or torture people it can get away with it. Or was it not true that torture took place in Argentina, Colombia,Brazil, Chile. just mentioned Thirty Year war because mercenaries were used and raped women during it and since did not know if French Foreign Legion qualifies as mercenaries would like to know if current mercenaries have code of conduct preventing them or would behave like Thirty Year War mercenaries. Is Black Water an ordinary security force or usual war mercenaries

The only example you site was the Thirty Years War hundreds of years ago, the world has turned many times since those dark ages my friend so your question bears little relevance to the real world.

V.B. It was the National Guard who opened fire at Kent State during the Vietnam War.

Today Security Guards at University's are being armed to help stop lunatic students from going on killing sprees because they have fried their brains on violent computer killing games.

Sometimes people who ask dumb ? are even worse then who they profess to be curious about tatics used. Do you think for a minuate that because we claim to be civililized, that would stop any gov. from using any kind of torture? Think again esp. after 9/11, when the U.S.A. was attacked it showed the world the worse kind of torture a country could suffer. We in north america know nothing of how these animals torture our people then cry foul when found out. I am a christian what goes around comes around

Well a long time ago, at Kent State in Ohio, a protest by
the students attending the school, resulted in at least 4
deaths: http://kent.state.tripod.com/
The shooting wasn't being done by the students!
The students were being misled by ill thinkers, causing
literally hundreds of young men, to burn their draft cards
across the country, stage protests with flag burnings, and
blatantly dose themselves with mind altering drugs.
The Security Guards at more than one college, including the University of Iowa, have in the last 2 years been given the go ahead to carry guns. In answer to your question, of course
they would, as a last resort!
