The only products I know of to gain weight quickly are beer and pizza, but that's probably not the right kind of weight. If you're losing muscle mass during endurance training, it could be that you aren't recovering well enough after your long workouts. You also need to be sure you're consuming enough calories on long rides/runs so that your body doesn't start breaking down muscle. Other than that, try to get in some strength type cross training on your off days and get enough lean protein in your diet.

I think you're going in the wrong direction here. First of all, for a long distance runner and endurance athlete - weight is bad. One of the key performance metrics you will hear about is strength to weight ratio. If you gain 15 pounds, you are essentially decreasing this by up to 15% with all other things equal. Not a good thing. You also increase the work required to perform a given task since you would be carrying more weight around. Imagining doing your last workout with a 15 pound dumbbell in your back pocket.
Instead of focusing on weight, focus on strength training. This winter, do some good weight training on your lower body. Try to build the power that will lower your times. This may increase some mass, but it will be a natural response to training rather that a body's response to a foreign substance.

It can be now not going to replacement for strolling, however it may well help in approaches. It is going to support strengthen your total speed, and help you on hills. If you are going to do it though you will have to do excessive reps, like 20, 5 reps or some thing like that is not going to make you rapid in any respect. I carry weights when I are not able to run when you consider that of shin splints and ride a stationary bike as good. But doing sprints, calve raises, lunges, hill workout routines, push ups, and ab exercises can relatively quilt anything you'd want. It is quite your call, but i don't suppose it would harm unless you particularly bulked up quite a bit. That will not happen until you figure out quite rough close to everyday and consume a **** load although. I carry about three days every week and i'm beautiful reduce and all but I havn't received more than 10 pounds considering that 8th grade(eleventh grade now) due to the fact I run and maintain the fat off.

Many sound answers.
If you are training to compete in running, cycling or a combination of both than gaining weight will hurt your performance. If, on the other hand, you do not compete and just want to look more like a football player than an endurance athlete, than cut back on the running and cycling and start eating protein and lifting.
However, if you are older it will still be hard to gain a lot of weight as growth hormones decrease with age.

No.
If you want to gain weight, you have to adjust your workouts and not do so much.
Your body can't gain weight if you're always burning up all your calories and pushing you metabolism through the roof.
The only thing you can do is eat regularly, large portions.
There is no protein shake that can take the place of good, solid meals.
Most people have the opposite problem...they don't burn enough cals. in their exercise...what little they get.
And most people eat way too much of the wrong foods...potato chips, etc.LOL...what would happen if you ate a bag of Doritos?

I was just sitting here thinking about how fast I could be at 135lbs..... or 150 for that matter. If your fit at 135 STAY THERE. The only reason an endurance athlete should need to put on weight is if your body fat % is dangersly low . Just eat healthy and a lot. replace the calories you burn with good stuff and enjoy racing light!

i believe in natural things. our bodies are wonderful machines if you allow them to be. we are born with given genetics and abilities to adapt and overcome. your body has dropped weight, because the amount of work you are doing has forced it to adap. with running in particular, the lighter the better in most cases, so your body dropped the weight to become more efficient for the demands you were making.
most weight gainers are empty calories. eating more calories will produce weight, but not always healthy weight. i believe in letting your body do what it does naturally. you train, eat healthy whole foods whenever you feel hungry, stretch and rest well, and your body will take care of the rest. if it has lost this weight, it may be telling you it is more efficient at this weight. you can add muscle weight with resistance training(weights) but it is a slow process and not so much a matter of some magic powder.
