In order of my preference;
Conures,-- Suns. Jenday, Patagonian. Noisy but great personalities. My female Sun owns me and is VERY jealous.
Senegals--perfect starter parrot. Easy keeper.
Cauques--new additions, so I'm not sure. Real clowns and love to play. may become my faves.
Lovebirds---nice to look at but hard interaction sometimes.
Ringneck--I am hand feeding chicks for friend, the work level is tough, but I will get a chick when they are fully weaned. Haven't owned an adult so don't know for sure.

Currently: 2 Goffin cockatoos, 2 Sun Conures, 1 Derbyan parakeet, 1 Indian Ringneck, 2 Plumhead parakeets, 1 Maximillian Pionus, 7 Peachfaced Lovebirds of varying mutations, approximately 25 Budgies, 2 Orange cheeked waxbills, 2 Cordon Bleus (finches); AND a partridge in a pear tree!

Previously: 1 Blue Crowned Conure, 1 Senegal, 1 Severe Macaw, 1 Java Moustache parakeet, 1 Alexandri Moustache parakeet, 1 Blue Indian Ringneck, 1 Fischer's Lovebird, 2 Kakariki parakeets, 2 Rosey Bourke parakeets, 12 Cockatiels, 8-10 Zebra finches, 2 Society finches, 2 Owl finches; and up to 60 Budgies at any one time during breeding season.

I think that pretty well covers them all! And remember, a Budgie is always a parakeet but a parakeet is not always a Budgie. There are many types of parrots that are properly referred to as - some type of "parakeet"; usually the longer tailed varieties of parrots.

We raise cockatiels right now, be we have raised what some people call parakeets but are actually budgies. We have 22 breeding pairs of cockatiels and 22 chick right now. We are a small operation but it is very interesting and fun. We have certain birds that are just like family to us. Our original male is Bubba and he is rotten.

I have a beautiful Sun Conure called Nikko.
He's very demanding.The minute he hears me step out of bed in the morning,he wants to be fed and won't "shut up" until I feed him.Needs lots and lots of attention.
I love him dearly however.
