No soldier has gone into battle feeling like John Wayne?
Sure it's not a religious nut, but it works on the minds of young easily manipulated men

OOOH you are going to offend quite a few people ..
BUT ... I THINK i see your point ...
FORGET about who's on what side and the politics ...
BUT a suicide bomber THINKS that they are dying for a cause... THEY believe in the cause and are prepared to die in the name of the cause....
The leaders of the movement tell the would be suicide bombers that they are doing the right thing .. that they will be killing the enemy ...
An american soldier also believes that they are placing their lives on the line for what they believe in. For the cause that their nation's government is telling them. They believe that they are doing the right thing.
now I am NOT going to get into the BUT THEY ARE EVIL debate or discussion ... as that is not what I understood your question to be asking ....
Two people... prepared to die for a cause/belief.. THERE is the similarity.
(WE may NOT believe in the cause or belief .. but the question wasn't about us)

We have a different culture than kamikaze or suicide bombers. We believe all life is precious (that's why we're protecting Iraq against its aggressors) and we believe that each life is precious (that's why we treat injured soldiers thoroughly--and upon healing, many of them beg to return to the theatre of war.

American Soldiers arent Evil (no Matter how you try and spin it) they dont walk up to children and explode to kill as many as possible.
Suicide Bombers are.

I havent noticed US soldiers killing people who refuse to convert to Christianity by blowing themselves up in crowded market places shouting "Christ is King!!!"Or did CNN miss that??
