I'm amazed at all the people who are constantly quoting bible verses to answer questions.

Dont you people have an opinion that doesnt come out of a book???

It bothers me because its all the same, it isnt their personal opinion either, theyre always using it to tell people what they shouldnt do.

The bible doesnt express emotions and ideas. its just some human(s) idea of how we should all live.

You do know what religion is, right? They're not supposed to think for themselves... That's just the way it is.

we first we cant help you if you don't want to be helped. just think about this do you really wanna take the chance of being wrong?? i mean really life in hell because your to proud to admit you don't have control and we quote the bible because the bible has something for everyone in it and btw talking to non-Christians is very very very terrifying because in being human we naturally care what people think no matter how hard we try not to we do so we are worried what you will think but we over come that fear a little by using the bible as a reference to what we are saying. i don't know if this will help you but i can only try

Ok yo don't want me to quote from the Bible, so, lets say I am a doctor and you come to me with a rare exotic disease, would you prefer my opinion on how I should treat you, or would you think it would be better if I studied up in my medical books to see what the best way to treat your condition would be before I treat you? This is why I would go to the Bible God's Word to make sure I'd be speaking the truth to you and not just my opinion.

Everybody quotes from what they believe in.

Atheists quote Dawkins, Darwin, Sagan, godisimaginary.com, jesusneverexisted.com, Zeitgeist...

There's nothing original under the sun, as they say. And no, no one has an opinion that doesn't come from something else. Even atheists.

For the record, I only quote Bible verses when it's related to the question.

Yes. I have been amazed at this when I didnt know what makes these christians do that. Here's what I felt after for this.

In my past life, I never liked to go to church, read bible or pray. The only time I pray sincerely is when i am in trouble. Manytimes I have felt God answering me and I just forget it after that. Then once I got a cyst, it was so painful I cried out to God. He didnt answer. I was so upset. So I cried uncontrollably again to God and told Him that, since He is not answering, He will not take me to heaven also. Then I felt an urge to read the bible and here is the verse I read:
Do not be worried and upset, Jesus told them. Believe in God and believe also in me. There are many rooms in my Father's house, and I am going to prepare a place for you. I would not tell you this if it were not so. And after I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that you will be where I am. John 14: 1-3

I was so happy. But immediately after I felt that it was just co-incidence. But for the past 3 years God led me and after He filled me with the Holy Spirit, I cannot even deny. I feel Him daily, His presence. He listen to every person if they talk genuinely with humbless. And He is so much near to the broken-heart.

Please read here in which I have written the many incidents where God led me,

His words changes lives just as His words brought life in Genesis 1.

Hey man there is nothing stronger in all the universe than the Word of Almighty God. All you got is words of sinful men feeding you lies about life.

Hbr 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Simply because OUR BIBLE says it all.. Also quotes are there to explain things. We use quotes all of the time to substantiate our philosophy. Ex. mine is not to reason why mine is but to do or die. That is not religious but it helps explain my answer. If one answers a question with a quote from the bible it is obviously the opinion of the answerer that the bible is right therefor it is their own opinion!

You will find that almost all of your emotions and ideas have been at some point more eloquently expressed by someone at some point in history.

If they find their notions have been better expressed by the Bible than they themselves can express, then I see no reason why they ought not quote the Bible.

It's not only to provide answers, but it's also to defend a point of emphasis/belief. Sure, we can think for ourselves, but why take the chance of letting personal morality or lack thereof becoming the focus of our answers?

They think it proves something. I'd rather hear people's own thoughts and words instead of their copy-&-paste bible verses.
