When I was a believer I did. Sometimes things went the way I wanted and sometimes they didn't. I never knew if it was that God intervened or life just worked out that way. When I became an atheist I found my life didn't change in terms of things working out the way I wanted or need or not. What I have found makes a difference is thinking things through, developing a plan of action, and working towards my goals. There are of course things we can't control in life and I don't think God is doing anything in these areas, people just choose to believe that. My life continues to be mostly happy and good without prayer and I think is more influenced by good decision making and life circumstances. Moreover I realize if I want the world to change in terms of poverty, injustice, or other issues it takes action. Prayer won't cut it. I know people who pray and believe with all their heart and nothing comes of it. Believers will say its all God's will which means they have put their belief beyond falsification. If there is no answer they believe because it was God's plan it not work. If it just happens to work out how they wanted then they credit God and feel their faith is proven.

Yes, I do believe in prayers....here are just a few reasons why....
Prayers are a devotional instrument born out of childhood innocence. If properly utilized it is capable of manifesting a desired reality like several divinely orchestrated methods available today.
Prayers are a phenomenon unto itself and resembles other pursuits like cookie jars filled with wishes.
Prayers is an extremely powerful tool; a vessel carrying expressions of faith, hope and love.
A prayer is in its place for remembering what is important, for prioritizing and keeping things in their proper perspective; a place for that part of us that we hold sacred.
A Prayer is your friend and confidante; your loving parent, your emissary.
A Prayer is your mailbox for messages bound for heaven.
Prayers are a true phenomenon that has a meaning in many many ways...
I will pray for you and yours always...thanks for the question of the truly elightening.

I grew up in a strong, strict Christian home where I learned how to pray when I was a little girl. But all my life I always doubted that prayers really worked. As I neared my teenage years I stopped believing completely and went my own life. I'm not against religion or anything, but I personally think you shouldn't depend on something like prayers. There are a whole lot more that you can do!

prayer to me is not like playing the slot machine. stuffing the machine with coins hoping for a winning pull of the lever of chance.
prayer to me is asking the universe how i can be of service.
the kingdom of heaven is within

yes, i do believe in prayers because they give us confidence and we will be very positive in any work, i.e. it is our belief that's it.for example if we tell what we have in our heart we feel relaxed so it is the same telling our problems or sharing our problems with person named god.Hope you understand
