Hi. I want to know the range of desirable signal to noise ratios for a microphone for voice recording (typical voice memo recorder application)

References would be appreciated

Most voice recorders have a typical S/N ratio of >90dB.
Just type "voice recorder S/N ratio" into your search engine and compare the different products listed.

For voice recording, only, 50 dB S/N is certainly acceptable. It is even possible to acquire voice with S/N ratios much lower (in the high 30 dB's).

Music... that's different... you should have a much higher S/N ratio.
