BTW folks, a questing like this was asked a few weeks ago, but just the opposite. It was:

Why do Americans look so angry when they walk around the streets and malls in China?

I have no idea what this is about.

I don't know about malls in China, but if they are anything like the malls in America, just being in one of those temples to Banana Republic and Abercrombie & Finch is enough to suck the life and happiness out of anyone...

Because you're in a big city and sometimes people are just too busy. Lots of big cities are like that. All the pollution and noise and too many people makes people grumpy. Also, living in an oligarchic state doesn't help. Anyway, get out of the city and you'll see more people smiling. Smile and people may just smile back at you.

Most of us work long hours a day and have to study too. We are not angry maybe just serious.

i think it might be due to genetics , the structure of their eyes, forehead and thin slight lips....but they are far from angry. they are some of the kindest people i have ever met.
