Like Baptism and Communion, Confimation is one of the sacraments of Christian initiaton. I do not think they follow any sort of order when they are listed. But that is a good question to pose a priest. :-)

When you ask why does confirmation come before communion, I am not sure to what you are referring. In practice, in the Roman Catholic Church children normally receive communion at about the age of 7. This is known as the "age of reason" the time when children can tell the difference between right and wrong. It is current practice in my Archdiocese for children to receive the sacrament of reconciliation (formerly known as Penance) prior to receiving the sacrament of the Eucharist (communion). Children can be confirmed at any time after they receive communion. Normally this is done in juniour high school. I was confirmed when I was 16 but this was rather late compared to my cousins.

In the Eastern Rite Churches (Orthodox & Eastern Rite Catholic) babies receive the sacraments of baptism, confirmation, and eucharist (communion) at the same time. They enter the church as full members.

I see no contradiction. The sacraments are classified according to type.

Jesus gave the Church seven sacraments: baptism, confirmation and Eucharist are called the sacraments of initiation; penance and anointing of the sick are called the sacraments of healing; and marriage and holy orders are called the sacraments at the service of communion.

what I recall is first confession when a six year old that had never had the occasion of sin yet was forced to lie in order to make his first confession . And in my day communion came first to confirmation But they were all preceded by deceit .

Because Catholicism developed a system based on Biblical accounts but not one that is held by it. The official position of the church is that its traditions hold precedence over scripture, which really does not make any sense to me. If a religion is contradictory to its religious doctrine then what is the point? If you believe that the Bible is the God inspired Word then what gives man the right to dictate tradition? Jesus preached against those kind of people.....
