Compare St. John's Wart pills to SEREDYN and AMORYN...Do St. John's Wart pills help anyone? Would the other two pills work better?

tried St JW for several weeks weeks with no results for me. Maybe my depression is too severe. Have been on numerous meds for depression and can't remember all the names of them, but am now on Paxil which works better than most of what I've tried. I don't recognize Seredyn or Amoryn. Best wishes to you.

I've never tried St John's Wort, because I'm on anti-depressants (it's dangerous to combine the two). I think in major depressive disorders the chemical anti deps are a more practical choice. I would think that SJW might be for shorter periods of depression or grief, related to specific events (e.g. a death in the family).

From my reading I've not come across anywhere that SJW is a brilliant miracle cure or anything. I'm not 100% sure. But I think medical studies have shown it has a limited impact.

I tried St. Johns Warts; hoping they would help me with my depression. I took them over a six month period, and I had no noticeable results. It did absolutely NOTHING.

I don't understand why they are used for treating depression?

Maybe they work with some people, but the definely don't work for me!
