It is very rare, but it does happen every once in a blue moon. Kind of like a tornado hitting your house, that would be rare, but yes, some times dentists make mistakes. I have only seen it happen once in 24 years

No - but he drilled a bunch of "cavities" that never existed and then told me I needed 2 root canals (nothing showed up on the xrays). My new dentist said that I definitely did not need a root canal. The other dentist just inflamed the roots with his horrible methods.
Ugh - no wonder people don't like going to the dentist!

Thankfully I have never seen this happen... and I've been in the dental field for almost 30 years.
I think it's called incompetence..but that's what malpractice insurance is for..............
