Part of the whole atheist thing is that we don't believe there IS a hell... so we can't be afraid of going there. I, for one, am not the least bit afraid that I'm wrong. I'm confident that, given the evidence currently at hand, there is no heaven, no hell, no god, no satan.

You, on the other hand, are scared because you pre-suppose that there IS a hell and you don't want to go there. That is a big difference between us.

no. Hell is so obviously a man made concept its ridiculous. It's just a cheap scare tactic the church uses to gain converts. I was raised Mormon, who don't believe in hell the same way that mainstream Christians do so its not something I ever really worried about. If I ever did worry about going to hell I would just bring myself back to my senses by thinking, If I were born in India or some other country where the majority of the population isn't Christian and someone told me I was going to hell unless I converted to Christianity, I would just laugh at them. I wouldn't even give it a second thought. The only reasons Americans worry about that sort of thing is because it is so ingrained in our culture- otherwise we would realize that its a ridiculous idea and not give it any credibility at all

The word atheist means you don't necessarily believe a theory. idea, story etc. Fear of hell is personal conscious or guilt. Grace is given to those who seek the truth faithfully with earnesty and passion. There is no right or wrong in this search for truth. Seek YE 1st...the prodigal son had faith of a mustard seed. Liken to the seeker of truth found in unbounded pages. question the sheeple of the temple.

So you are under the influence of fear?
I was too, as a Christian.
So the decision to become an atheist was not taken lightly or casually, in view of that possibility, *if I was wrong*.

But I go with what I'm convinced is true.
You expect fear to cause me to lie to others and myself just out of the risk of punishment? That's revealing of the system!

No.
I have thought about it a lot. And everything, every evidence point to the fact that God was an invention of man.

But I really pity those who believe in superstition.
They (as I was once) victims of God's inventors.
Some victims are really very close to me. I'd like to shout to them--"You are wasting your life on something that is not there." But they won't hear me. It has gotten to be a big institution now. But it will die. Not in my generation. But it will, when man becomes more intelligent.

i'm Christian, and that i'm no longer worried of such issues, even in any respect. "Hell" is probably no longer taught interior the classic Greek, the two. Evil spirits are taught approximately, yet no longer interior the procedures human beings think of, and that they are basically represented in our actual existence by using the dynamics of the lack of understanding between mankind. No boogie guy memories, there in any respect. The Hebrew old testomony does in fact coach of non secular creatures, the two reliable and evil. in spite of the undeniable fact that, the story is going interior an identical likeness. Hell is basically "the grave", and unfavorable non secular impacts are limited in get entry to to the actual realm of existence to mere and specifically basically impacts interior the for sure adequate very genuine international of the lack of understanding of mankind.

No. I guess I might be wrong, but I really doubt it. And if god knows everything then they know my thought processes and reason for atheism. So if they have a problem with being rational, and the total lack of any evidence for their existence, and think it's worth sending me to hell...then it's not the sort of god I would want anyway! Besides, I don't think I'd be capable of genuine belif if I tried. And that's the way god made me, right?

arent christians the least bit scared that they are the ones prophecied as the decieved by Satan? that truth is surfacing.... along with all the answers the demon who calls himself god has been trying to burry from the human race.... Evil requires ignorance of the truth to stay in power.... and will promise even the impossible.. life after death for he need never pay up as long as people accept the ignorance of blind faith alone.

for Satan shall call himself god of the entire earth.. and he shall deceive many. Satan is the only one who has called himself 'god' of the earth
