Men live 6 years less than women and are more likely to be victims of the 15 top causes of death. Prostate cancer is now the most common cancer.

Despite these facts all I see are campaigns for women's health. Pink ribbons are everywhere I look.

No, I am not. See any prostate cancer campaigns? No, you don't. It is all breast cancer.

Several times more research money is spent on women's health issues than men's as well.

You're wrong! There is so much talk about men's prostate trouble and heart disease and colon cancer, as well as other types of cancer.

There's a "Men's Health" category right here in Y/A that's very popular. The magazine "Men's Health" is a huge seller.

I think men still don't eat as healthy as women. For example, last Saturday night my husband and I went out to dinner. The men ordered steaks, and made fun of the other woman and myself when we ordered salmon. Why?? Men drink a lot more beer than women, and I think more men than women still smoke cigerettes, as well as pot. Mostly Viet Nam vets, who are now in their late 50's.

That was a great question. It'll be good conversation for our next dinner out! Give that man a star!! :)
