An Athiest is a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.

Athiests do have a "sense" of religion and spirituality. They sense that religion is full of (contradictions), for one thing.

Obviously you need to do some research.

Because religionwise and sprituallywise absence of belief is imnsho as meaningful if not more as blind faith will ever be.

> Why would athiests even BE on a Religion/Spirituality forum if they have no sense of Religion/Spirituality?

yes, everyone should be able to voice an opinion. Religion and spirituality doesn't necessarily mean you have to commit to one specific religion. Some atheists just don't believe in one particular thing, it does not mean they arnt spiritually inclined or religious. It may just mean that their religion doesn't fit into the box of what others perceive as a true faith .

Because there's no "Lack of Religion and How Great The World Is/Would Be Without It" forum.

Also, as others have pointed out, being an atheist simply means that you do not believe in god, it doesn't mean you are not religious or spiritual. But thanks for playing. Very open-minded and tolerant of you, Jesus would be proud!

Because I'm counting how many times this question gets asked...

For the record, yours makes it 8378 times (at least that's how many times Y! is reporting it as...)

Seriously, though...religion has an impact well beyond faith (take the Planned Parenthood clinic that just opened outside of Chicago as an example of this). People have been trying to foist their faith onto the population, as if its the only possible way to view right and wrong.

I was raised christian (it just never took). I am fairly knowledgeable about the history of the bible, the church, and their impact on society. The point of this site is to share information and knowledge. I only offer up the facts.

One last point...you are aware that their are certain philosophies that are both atheistic, and spiritual, such as Buddhism, right?

Some of them have answered that they just don't agree with religion as they know it; but they also say "that doesn't mean I'm not spiritual". I've seen others say it's just to make it difficult for Christians or they love to argue the points... I think they are as diverse as any other group of human beings.

nicely i'm so very valuable that any solutions I even have with regards to my Atheistic view on the religion that I stick to could flow to some different classification. perhaps I could ask approximately Jesus in Mythology and Folklore, because of the fact it seems i'm not allowed to invite right here. perhaps you're able to sidestep this section additionally because of the fact you at the instant are not a Pagan. Have some admire, in case you're able to. I ask questions approximately faith interior the appropriate section. it may desire to be my own opinion that God is a fantasy, yet I even have the respect to a minimum of question Him right here. i'm 0.5-tempted to place my next bible question in 'Bullfighting', now. ((((hugs)))) ~Loving easy~

I was wondering how to spell "athiest"... but yeah like he said its an intresting topic.

And no I'm not "spiritually yearning" -.-
I hate it when people try and make me religious. I was stuck next to a priest on a 12-hour flight once.
