when i had mine taken out (last summer) i ate the following:
1) natrualapplesauce with lowfat cottage cheese
2) TJs shredded wheat with soy milk-let sit for about 5 minutes until soggy
3) malt-o-meal/cream of wheat with dash of honey and cinnamon
4) FatFreeplainyogurt with fresh preserves(y'know like jam but no corn syrup)
5) TJs blackbean soup with cubed firm tofu

These may sound nasty to you, but I've eaten these foods/combos for many years so it was not difficult to turn to these while my gums healed. Good luck and don't forget to rinse with salt water!!! Don't let food get stuck back there!!!
Happy Healing =)

I just had four wisdoms, two molars and one upper side tooth removed yesterday so I'm in the same boat as you. I have been eating milkshakes with a spoon and applesauce. I also bought some cut-up chicken wingettes from the store today and boiled them down really good today. They were so good. I washed the chicken and put them in a pot with water, a stick of margarine, cubed onion, bell pepper and minced garlic. I seasoned the water with seasoning salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and dried celery flakes. I let the meat cook for about 2 hours or so and it was so good. I also sauteed me some fresh spinach and I cooked it a little doner than I usually would have. Also, I got some hot and sour soup from a local chinese restaurant. You will have to pick out the hard veggies. Also, egg drop soup is good too because it's broth and the eggs are very soft so you can just swallow them.

I had my wisdom teeth out years ago, but for soft foods, I ate some of the following:

Already made jello or pudding cups (flavor you like)
baby food (it was ok, but not my favorite)
mashed potatoes with cheese and also gravy
soft scrambled eggs
Assorted cream soups (heartier than other soups)
Assorted soups

Hope this gives you some ideas of what you can eat besides eating rice pudding. Hope you recover quickly from your tooth extractions and you incur no problems. Good luck.

Every time I had my wisdom teeth out, beforehand, I would make a big pot of home made mashed potatoes and put lots of cheddar cheese in it!! Yummy. Then I would just heat up a big bowl when ever I got hungry after the tooth was pulled.

Mashed potatoes - get them in the Box from Betty Crocker.
Also some baby food in jars is OK - also try scrambled eggs,
refried beans (Old El Paso) in a can, and soups that come in cans.

i used to make this for my baby before he had teeth.
it's like a savoury bread pudding.

diced firm or stale bread......pan toasted with a bit of olive oil
add your own spaghetti sauce or a prepared one.
add a beaten egg and parmesan.
stir while cooking, just until the egg is done.
very soft. sort of like spaghetti without the spaghetti.
sometimes i beat the egg with the sauce and pour it in together.

sorry, i don't have measurements. i learned to cook the old fashioned way.

scrambled eggs are good. I would also suggest broth of any kind (perhaps your mom could make you some broth or just use canned. You should consider those shakes for weight loss because they are supposed to be good meal replacements (you don't have to take it to lose weight). I hope these ideas help.

All the above but cottage cheese. You really don't want a curd stuck in a socket. Bad news. Trust me, I know.
