i bought a 84 cutlass from a guy i know and its been a few months now and he says he cant get me the title is their any way i could get a title for the car does anyone have any suggestions thanks!!!

Not only could he apply for a duplicate title, but he may also be able to apply for a lost title.

He can apply for a duplicate title for the vehicle . It is simple as that . Right now he falls under " theft by deception " . If you want to push the issue ,with the law.

He should be able to get a copy for the state that it's titled in.

You kind of have a problem here. Legally, you do not own this car. The guy can report it stolen and then your life gets really bad for a bit. Do you have a bill of sale?

Call secretary of state and ask for a duplicate they charge $15.00 or so. or have the guy you bought it from do that.
