Spelling, punctuation and grammar?

No, no, only kidding.

Seriously, what if when you die, your future is not determined by piety or anything external, but you actually are forced to judge YOURSELF.

At the moment of truth, you have to be utterly frank & honest and ask (and answer) one simple question.

Did you do your absolute best in life, or did you slack off?

I'll leave the "reward" part up to you, but how many will honestly be able to say they did their best? That they made a quality life out of the life they had?

See, it's the answer to this question that matters. It's not about what's written in a book, or whose faith is stronger, or whose god is real, or who has the facts - and it never will be.

It's only about the effort you put forth, and whether it's honest or not. Once you understand this, you will know EXACTLY how to live a great life, all by yourself.

What's wrong pinbacking, did I strike a nerve? It's just a question, right?

Well Joe Schmo, or should I say GOD! If that were true then what would all the preachers and old books be good for? Are you trying to destroy the whole theocratic bureaucracy? What would we do with them if they lost their jobs? Put them on welfare? The Lord knows they're not good for anything else.
However, doing our "absolute" best is a matter of opinion. There are many outside influences that affect our abilities. So we do have to show ourselves some Mercy in court.

What a wonderfully provocative question!

If you had to answer this question honestly, how would you answer? If I died today and had to take stock of how I did, I could honestly say that I did some really bad things that I truly regret and wish I could undo, but that I learned a lot from the wrong things I did and I have not repeated those wrongs. I have also learned more about leading a good and productive life in general, just from my mistakes.

So doing wrong things in one's life has some purpose, if we learn from what we do and become better as a result.

I think life is an ongoing learning process, and that if we FAIL to learn from the opportunities we are given, then we haven't put forth our best efforts. And everyone can place blame on the rotten things that happen to them in their lives and attempt to justify bad behavior with all kinds of busllshit justification, OR they can learn from what happens, become stronger, become more compassionate, become stronger as a result.

There is a saying, that it isn't what happens to you in life, but what you do with what happens to you. I like that very much, because we all get stuff happening. The question is, what did we do with the stuff that fell on our heads?

I can say that TODAY, I do my best virtually all the time, and when I screw up, I apologize and make my amends right away. My conscience is on my butt if I don't!

Terrific!
Blessings,

well then im ******, i can TRY my hardest, but i know i can still DO better,
do or do not, right?
what if its not work based, but faith based? what if its all about just living what you believe?
or what if its just about being able to go with the flow?
or what if its about accepting people?
or what if the only thing that we will be judge on is how many pairs of jeans we owned in the year 1975, the more you owned, the more you get in Heaven. Not alive then? O well, you get thrown into Hell.
oooooo or what if its all about how many times you laughed, or made someone else laugh, or thought about laughing or thought about making someone else laugh, or wanted to, or needed to, or tried to?
what if we're not judged at all?

hey, what if no one really knows how its going to work out up there.. .er... down there... or where ever it is, and what if we just keep going about doing what we think is what we're supposed to do? what then?

It's very praiseworthy that you now want to do your absolute best in life. That imagined praise is probably a good indicator that your life is worth living. You win the big prize for doing your best. How does YA phrase it? Oh yes, "Go ahead, do your victory dance. Celebrate a little. Brag a little."

But it is all vanity. Chasing after the wind.

Most would lie and say they did their best, a few would be honest and I think that they (no matter if they did their best or not) should get rewarded.

However I still like your first idea of being judged on spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

Why a appropriate deity? Why no longer one that in basic terms likes what you like, once you like it, hates each thing else and authorises you to swindle, destroy, scouse borrow from, kill and enslave any and all opposition or dilemma inspite of the civil government and triumphing regulations of the land - in basic terms like the Jews interior the old testomony (and the renowned-day in illegally occupied territories around Israel)? - see Judges. because of the fact that is risky and incorrect. Christianity is distinctive and break away humanity and it particularly is inferior. The bible should not be used as a precedent for something.

I consider myself to be a good, kind, caring person but I also know that will only get me so far and only here on earth. This is not the ultimate question. This "life" here on earth is so short compared to eternity in which we cannot fathom. Of course, while we are here we can decide to be "productive" or not but that definition is about as argumentative as the definition of "normal". I beg to differ with you. I do believe it does matter what it says in a book but ALSO how you live your life accordingly.

You are absolutely right. However the judge of our lives is not just ourselves but the God who made us.

I'm living the life. Part of living that life is rejecting silly superstition ( for me).

Ya, no. On whose authority are you making this statement on? Your own? Are you claiming to be God and that is what you, Joe Schmoe, has decreed as the truth and everyone else is wrong. You're really starting to sound like the stereotypical Christians that you probably bash...
