After being agnostic (couldn't say He didn't exist, but didn't really know either, I have ALWAYS been very scientific, I love cosmology, evolution, astronomy, paleoanthropology -- YES! We DID evolve from a common ape-like ancestor) for the last 15 years, I was transformed to God-rabid believer after His grace and Spirit descended upon me in my Baptism of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Saviour and Master, where I was caught up to God and held in His bosom of love and eternity in intimate spirit-union with God. Within 15 seconds, my life was transformed and I feel as if my whole 28 years of life were culminated in that one short span of time. It's like I lived my entire life for that short moment, and that short moment changed the rest of the remainder of my life. I now walk with God, will never forsake Him, and know He will never forsake me.

Anyone else had an earth-shattering experience that made you believe when you didn't know or didn't believe before?

Maybe I shouldn't have addressed the question to the athiests! At least the agnostics just don't KNOW, but they can't deny either. There is no rational reason for atheism, look around at the beautiful world of God's order and intelligence and you cannot deny He made the Universe and everything within it, and that is His gift to us. He also gifted us with the intellect to find out about it and our physical origins, and the spirit to find out about our spiritual origins.

Athiests... I feel sorry for you! You miss out on much richness in life without knowing something greater than yourself, or the "impersonal forces" that you believe created the universe. I believe in the Big Bang, but athiests... who or what created that infinitely dense point of matter originally before it exploded? Betcha can't answer that one eh?

I used to be an atheist, a pretty serious one actually.

One day, I had a feeling come over me, and I somehow knew that I was following the wrong path. Others have described this moment as the spirit of God entering me.

I don't know jack about most religions and what I do know is from exposure over the last few years but I can tell you that there are some people that have a positive energy that's available for all of us. It took so long to decide that this goal is more important than profits or pleasure. I see the glory of love and unity between people. The answers are inside each of us and we have been provided with people that show us what that means. I'm sorely tempted to honor them to much, all they do is show us what's possible from ourselves. They got it right too, God is love.

Soooo... you describe yourself as being transformed into a "God-rabid believer," then? Interesting. I've never heard anyone call themselves rabid, much less in a positive way before.

Nope, never had that happen to me. Ride the snake, and good luck with that.

God has zero evidence - you are weak-minded and gullible to believe DESPITE that. A comforting delusion is still a delusion.
