I don't believe that the earth is only 6,000 years old.
I believe in evolution.
But, I believe in God and Jesus.
I just don't believe a lot of what the bible says. I know it has been changed a lot.
Is this okay?

If you believe that Jesus Christ is God and died to forgive your sins, you're a Christian. If you don't, you're not.

Everything else is "unessential." Maybe the earth is way old. Maybe evolution is how God created us (deep, eh?). Maybe the Bible is more metaphorical and less literal. Either way, none of that impacts your being a Christian except for whether or not you believe that Jesus Christ is God and died to forgive your sins.

No. Your not considered a Christian. I don't know what you are classified as. I was going to say agnostic, but you claim you believe in God.

Jesus says in John 3:12 "If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?"

If you believe in evolution then you believe that there was sin and death before God ever created man. And if there was sin and death before God created man then how could He say it was good on the 6th day?

Also, what makes you think that 6 days in Genesis 1 is any different than 6 days in the rest of the Bible? "So the evening and the morning were the first day." "So the evening and the morning were the second day" The evening and the morning is the clue right there that it was a day.

The Bible is the guidebook for the Christian. If you don't believe the Bible, why be a Christian? If it has 1 lie in it, then it can't be trusted at all. Does the Bible specifically say that the earth is 6000 years old? The answer is simply "no".

It gives indications, but there are lots of people that understand the Bible differently (study the Gap Theory and the Day-Age theory).

As for belief, Christianity really does depend on the Bible. Where are you going to get your facts about God? How will you study Him and get to know Him? The Bible is the very Word of God.

The Bible never says the earth is 6,000 years old, that is just a theory that creationist have. Also, what makes you believe in evolution? Micro-evolution is true, yes, but not Macro-evolution. Look for the missing links, you will not find them. Look through the fossil record, millions of exhibits and not a single one linking itself to the other in evolutionary theory. If you believe in Jesus, then you believe what he said? If you believe what he said, he did say that the old testament (which was already being used by the Jews) was the word of God, which essentially means everything in it was true (being either literal of figurative). So what is it that you're having a problem with?

What is it you believe about God and Jesus? That determines whether you are a Christian or not. Everything we know about Jesus came from the Bible. Jesus referred to Moses' teachings and believed them . It doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that the earth is only 6,000 years old. Have you ever actually read and studied the Bible? I looked up your past Q&A and it doesn't look to me like you have much time for God. Have you ever asked Christ into your life? Have you ever repented of sin? Do you want to serve Him? Do you believe He died for your sins? Think about it.
P.S. Get a New King James Bible.

No,but you'd make a good Catholic. They pick and choose their beliefs, and the Pope's words trump Scripture for them.p.s.it hasn't been changed in the King James Bible. It is only the plethora of perversions that change God's Word.

I think you would do well to study what the Scripture has to say about whether you are a Christian, instead of going by what others say. I wouldn't allow my eternal life to depend on the opinions of strangers. If you will ask God to direct you in studying the Bible, he will satisfy you with answers to all of your questions. I wish you well in your search for truth.

Nope. If you believe evolution, then you are saying the words of God about the start of time are a lie. IF this was true, God would have lied, he would then not be God cause God is Holy, therefor Jesus was just another man, and couldn't only die for his own sins and not the sins of everyone

If there was no Adam, then there was no fall from grace - so what do you need Jesus to save you from?

Could a doctor convince you to take chemotherapy and radiation treatments without first showing you that you had cancer? That's the equivalent of accepting Christ but denying the existence of Adam.

By sin (Adam's sin) death entered the world (if Adam was the product of evolution, then there was lots of death before this point)

If you think there is error in scripture, how do you pick and choose which parts to accept and which parts to reject? Sounds like a cult to me - make up your own rules as you see fit and call it "Just as good as Christianity".......

God can make things aged. Evolution happens.Like I believe that the caterpillar morphs into a butterfly. I do not believe that different species turn into other kind of species over the time.

The minimum to believe from the Bible is John 3:16.
