BMI online is really not accurate... Especially for people who work out, because muscle weighs more than fat. To get a true test you can go to your doctor or a gym and they can measure it for you :)

BMI is just an approximation of your ideal weight based on your height. If you are particularly muscular, you could easily weigh more than the "ideal range" for your height.

But since you are worried about it, and you seem to take an interest in your health, ask your doctor. If you don't have a regular doctor, make an appointment at a local urgent care clinic. It's not terribly expensive and you can get a general check up while you're at it. Just make sure you tell them your concerns when you make the appointment.

Had you been overweight before you started working out? Six-pack or not, guys especially are prone to developing fat right where their organs happen to be. If you have any reason to be concerned, like family history or whatever, please be sure to mention that to a physician of some sort.

Okay, sorry to be a downer. Hope this helps!

Of course it's inaccurate. You know that already. I'm 6'1" 210 and should weigh between 145 and 175 depending on the BMI test I take. I would look like a wimpy freak that thin. I do work out as well. So enjoy the muscles and the attention you get by having them. Just don't let it go to your head!

BMI is not exactly accurate esp for someone who works out alot and gained muscle mass... The muscle mass contributed to your increased weight... As long as you keep yourself healthy and eat balanced diet, you should not be worried about your BMI....

BMI is a dumb way of measuring "looks". look online for how to calculate percent body fat (its really hard!!!) because you can be lean and weigh a lot or full of disgusting fat and weigh a lot and you will have the same BMI.

bmi is not wrong.
bmi is pretty irrelevant just the same way as scale is - it doesnt tell you how much muscle and how much body fat percentage you have which is what really matters and i would suggest you tracking results by measuring that (ask trainers in gym or dietitian to do that for you)

Try someone to measure your bmi with the machine, other than the place where you´ve been going. Maybe your bmi calculation was wrong.
If it´s not wrong, maybe you´re eating too much fat, but you don´t mention your diet in here.
If this is not the case, go to the doctor, it could be an imbalance in your hormones.
Good luck.

bmi does not take into account muscle weight, you are not obese. If you want to have an accrate idea of where your health stands, have your body fat tested.

Yeah i mean if you have a six pack...then you must not be obese! Everyone is built differently so going off of that isnt always correct.
