What does the Jewish religion teach about death. Where do we go when we die? Do you have a Heaven?

Judaism is focused on this life. theres a concept of an afterlife, but its very vague, trusting God with all that.

Kabbalah(the real stuff, not the pop nonsense madonna and suchlike are into) deals A LOT more with the afterlife.

jewish belief in the afterlife ranges from ebing unconcious and asleep in your grave until the messiah comes, to a "heaven" concept, to full on reincarnation.

theres NO eternal hell in Judaism though. some have a concept of a hell, for the REALLY REALLY bad people, but this isn't something most have to worry about even if they did alot wrong. but generally its not that big of a deal, compared to most christians's concept.

the attached page might help some.

edit: yes, christianity sprung from judaism. ... and changed almost everything and added huge amounts out of nothing and out of paganism and political control.

The strict dogma is that we don't know, that family is important, and we live on in the memory of our children.

The common beliefs are of a Heaven (but no specifics) and a Hell (again, no specifics).

Judaism is not a mystical religion, but a practical one.

im pretty sure it teaches there is an afterlife, but that is not the focus of the religion, and im not sure what the specifics of their belief are.
