I was hoping that the troops would come home from Iraq, but we will only be sending more if we do a strike on Iran.

What's better:

a) Do nothing and let them build nuclear bombs and then threaten the USA and their allies

b) Hit them hard before they build their bombs...

Option b) would save lives in the long-run.

But, don't worry.. Bush has already indicated many times that he wants a peaceful end to this conflict. And, Congress would never approve it... unless Iran is foolish enough to attack the USA first.

The current administrations of both countries are seemingly on course for such a conflict !! Both "heads of state" have their own personal reasons to want this !!
The guys in Iran want to be the warrior-princes of the Arab Empire --- and Junior wants to be the iron-fist of God !!
Odd as all this is, though -- the citizens of both countries (for the most part) are horrified by the meer thought of such a thing !!
I would be extremely surprised if we are not into a genuine bloodletting festival of fire well before the Bush team vacates the White House --- it will be his way of "locking in, the stay the course agenda" that he so desperately wants to saddle the country with !!

With America heading toward a war with Iran, inadvertent or otherwise, the picture of how the conflict is likely to pan out is becoming clearer. In an all-out war, the basic American military tactic will be air attacks, naval blockades, offshore bombardments, and the destruction of oil and power infrastructures and Iran's naval presence in the Persian Gulf.

It CAN be avoided, even with the President of Iran opening baiting the West to strike him down

It depends on whether or not Bush can drum up enough support before he leaves office.
Obviously, nobody else in either party would do such a thing, so it's all just a matter of timing on Bush's part.

that depends how much oil there is. and also depends on how foolish Americans are. u know some stupid reasons like freedom to the people bullshits! dying by the thousands just for a few drops of oil. Americans are stupid so as to say.

I cant help but feel that Iran is doing all it can to invoke or provoke the US military into attacking.

It seems almost pre-destined.
