No, it will not. Think about it logically for a sec., neosporin is normally used when we get a cut to prevent bacterial infection. Pimples are a result of bacteria, there for, what already is, can't be taken away. In other words, neosporin may help keep the skin from 'scabbing', sorry for the grossness, but that's about it. Now, if its embedded and you want to relieve the swelling and redness, use visine and some ice, it works al-be-it temporarily. Also, applying hydrogen peroxide via q-tip, at night, before bed is said to help dry up zits, or you can even go for good ole Colgate toothpaste, yes it works!!! And believe it or not, if troubled skin is a problem, you can use a mixture of salt and olive oil for a week, once a day, then after that about 3 times a week to maintain. The salt exfoliates, while the olive oil actually helps restore the natural balance of oil production in your skin. Top it off with an oatmeal/milk/egg wash, 10 min. facial mask once a week, you will have glowing skin!!!

No, Neosporin is petroleum based and will keep the poor clogged. Use a lotion, gel or cream based product.
Try the following skin care:
Gentle cleansing with a mild soap (such as Dove or Neutrogena).
Applying benzoyl peroxide (such as Benoxyl, Benzac, or Clearasil).
Applying salicylic acid (such as Clearasil, Propa pH, or Stri-Dex).
Wash your face three times daily and keep your hands away from your face. Hands carry germs and will aggrivate "zits."
Even an occasional flare up of "zits" can be devastating. I well remember the days when If I had even one as a youth I was certain I had terminal acne.
Make an appointment with a dermatologist. They can assist in clearing up the current flare up and assist in being " zit free." If only they had the products available when I was a teen I would have been saved much grief and my school attendance wouldn't have suffered .

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.
The secret is never to touch the spots
Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

it might help the zit from being reinfected but isnt neosporin greasy? i dont think its a good idea to apply that.. wash it with dial soap and let it dry out.. zits ALWAYS take a long time to heal no matter what we do because we tend to focus on them... focus is what makes the zit really last.

You're better off using something with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Try Clean and Clear Persa Gel. What you want is something to dry it out. If you picked it (which you shouldn't, but everyone does it at some point), it's good to put Neosporin on it to promote healing and prevent scarring.

neosporin is an antibiotic ointment and zits are bacterial infections. my guess is yes. I use it, but can't say it clears them up any faster. I don't get them too often so I don't remember.
I CAN tell you that if your zits are horomonal (the kind you get before you start your period), nothing you put on them will help.

NO - find products that have a high % of salicyitic acid (not sure of the spelling) - it is THE ingredient of pure aspirin. Most Clearasil products have it - be careful how much alcohol is in the stuff tho - that dries your skin but does not affect the zit directly.

I tried this on the scars left behind after the pimple went away and it actually worked for me. It cleared up faster. But the downside is that it will make your face greasy in that one spot. So I only put on a little and only if I have no makeup on.

Yes because bacteria causes zits and the ointment helps keep it at a minimum.
