Each Jehovah's Witnesses uses whatever bible translation he (or his student) prefers; Witnesses tend to prefer New World Translation because it includes the nearly seven thousand occurrences of the divine name ("Jehovah").
Jehovah's Witnesses are relatively unique among self-described Christians in that they understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom by Christ Jesus is a real government which will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

KenKen,
You are left in the dark! We do celebrate the Memorial of Jesus' death! We have get-togethers and we have simple wedding receptions! We don't celebrate Pagen holidays its not what the Bible says or what Jesus commanded us to do. If your friend is a Witness you should know the real truth about us by asking your friend what we actually do for fun!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We use the New World Translation of the Holy Bible. And we are Christians. Read SisterCF's answer!

Jehovah's Witnesses—Who Are They? What Do They Believe?
Ways They Use to Share the Good News
CHRISTIANS are commanded to "make disciples of people of all the nations," but this does not mean that they are to use pressure or convert others by force. Jesus' commission was to "tell good news to the meek ones," to "bind up the brokenhearted," to "comfort all the mourning ones." (Matthew 28:19; Isaiah 61:1, 2; Luke 4:18, 19) Jehovah's Witnesses seek to do this by declaring the good news from the Bible. Like the prophet Ezekiel of old, Jehovah's Witnesses today try to find those who "are sighing and groaning over all the detestable things that are being done."—Ezekiel 9:4.

Jehovah's Witnesses DO NOT have their own bible!
We use the same bible as Christendom uses....only we include God's name JEHOVAH in the scriptures where it has been taken out. For those who don't know, that sacred name appeared in the original texts over 7000 times. Jehovah wants mankind to know His name and who He is, so the next time you come across a witness, please take a moment to ask questions, they will gladly answer them AND show you scriptural proof from the Bible...your copy or theirs.
Peace

Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ, he is God's son, he did come to earth as a ransom sacrifice for our sins. We use any Bible, any Bible is God's word. You may have received an invitation this past summer to our convention entitled - "Follow the Christ!" Would we have such a thing if we did not believe in Christ? Those who hate us spread lies about us, including the lie that we are not christian. You would do yourself a favor to look into what we believe.

God does not tell you not to let Jehovah witnesses into your home. For when the Bible was written there was no Jehovah witnesses. It more an likely warns us not to believe everyone version of what God says and who God is. Be careful that you are listening to the "Word of God," and not that of men and doctrine.

Hi, we are Christians.
We use all/most Bibles. I say most as I have seen some, um, interesting Bibles on sale at Wal Mart. We do often use the New World Translation.
Honestly, I can't think of any principles about letting us in your home, asside from it being a risky idea to let strangers in one's home. I personally am always surprised if someone invites me in as I am not requesting it when I first meet someone in the ministry. Also depending on the area, it isn't very safe to go into a strangers home.
Hope this helps.
EDIT
In regards to some of the ones claiming to know my faith, who clearly don't.
We have nothing against having fun, or going to parties. We do believe in trying to be modest. It is true we don't celebrate some things, such as Christmas, but this is for Biblical reasons.

They believe in the same god, and I do believe that god tells us to love each other. They read the same bible, just interpret some things in it differently than other religions, like they do not celebrate christmas or get blood transfusions. By the way, Jehovah is the name of God- check your bible!

no god does not say don't let JW in your home. First because that wasnt a religion back in the day. Second because Jesus believed in reaching out to the sinners. He hung out with prosititutes, lepers, and outcasts. Not the religious and holy. He reached out to them.
Yes they have a different "bible" but they do still use the Bible to try and back up some of their teachings.
The difference in views is FAR too many for this page.

The basis for telling people not to allow JWs or Mormons, etc. into your home is from 2 John 1:7-11. The context speaks of not allowing false teachers - specifically those that deny the truths of the incarnation - into your home.
Personally, regardless of one's interpretation of the above verses, I would strongly recommend against allowing someone from these groups into your home unless you are well versed in the Scriptures. The individuals that come to our doors are trained and prepared specifically in how to undermine a weak or unstudied faith.

Yes,it says not to have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness[Ephesians 5:11].They have many doctrines that are contrary to God's Word. And several false prophecies that prove it is not Christian in any way.Amazingly, one doctrine teaches that only 144,000 of them will be saved. As the religion grew they adopted an additional role in eternity for the rest of their adherents.Want to study it?Do it on your own.Don't let them into your home.
