Do you feel that China will eventually start cracking down on the world's best example of free markets working?

As long as China holds up to the "one country, two systems" agreement they signed with the UK before the handover, Hong Kong's free market system and way of life will remain free of China's socialist system for at least another 40 years. China agreed not to interfere in the basic way of life and capitalist system for 50 years, of which 10 years has passed and China so far has lived up to the agreement. I think Hong Kong is the model for what China aspires to be, and China has enough sense to leave a good thing the way it is, not to mention the hard currency it generates.

There are 40 more years until the "Two Systems" law runs out. China agreed to keep the border closed (between China and HK) for a total of 50 years after the British Handover.

The personal freedoms of Hong Kong are reasonable for now, but this could change in time.

Hong Kong economy is booming with China. Jobs are growing, investment is high, and freedom itself has no problems.

Maybe after the 40 years run out, china will change Hong Kong. However, I doubt it, HK 's economy is helping China also, they will not be making any changes that will jeoperdize the growing economy. China isn't stupid.
