we do need the us because if any desaster happens in australia will need there help like they needed our help, if any one thinks other wise there are kidding them selfs.

discount politics...we are a similar people and should worry that the common people in our countries have ties unrelated to any governments. I don't stand behind much of what my government does and it certainly rarely follows the wishes of the common people here....better to worry about how big business influences the views we have of one another. At the personal level, we are no different. I look atr what your government and can believe that it is not always a mouthpiece of the people. Australia is far from me and I am just an ordinary person...I did give $100 to New Orleans out of guilt, but the best friend is a friend that can stand on his own feet and dare to challenge you. you may misunderstand what being an american is...sure i'm an American, but I am also a Minnesotan first, they are my people and my neighbors...I don't know New York from Sydney...I would be lost just as quick in either

America, Australia, Canada and Britain have a special relationship. We always have. We may fight like siblings, but we know who we can depend on in a pinch.
