Hell yeah, Alot of people say it lacks compared to 360 games-wise, but the games available are awesome:
Resistance.
Motorstorm.
Warhawk.
Rainbow Six Vegas.
GRAW2.
F.E.A.R.
Pro Evolution.
WWE.
Heavenly Sword.

Just to name a few... and titles you can look forward too are: MGS, GTA, Resident Evil, Assassins Creed, Army of Two, Killzone, Unreal Tournament aswell as other awesome games. Also the ps3 can be used online free, it uses cool new wireless controllers, plays blu-ray discs (aswell as DVD) and is just overall a great machine.

The PS3 worth getting when you are like a hardcore gamers, but if you're like a normal player then i would sugest getting the XBOX 360 because it's cheaper with many great games like Halo 3, Bishock and all that stuff. And by the way if you want, buy a PS3 rent some PS3 games and try it for like a few days, if you don't like it then return it.

depends on what you like. if you like shooters, than get the 360: halo, bioshock, stranglehold, etc. for casual pick up and play games, the wii. for rpg's and fantasy , definitely the ps3. the ps3 in my opinion has the most potential because its the most powerful. what it comes down to is the games and what your preference is. some games you should check out if you want a ps3:
metal gear solid 4
final fantasy 13/13 versus
folklore
heavenly sword
littlebigplanet
rock band
white knight story(chronicles)/ shiroshiki monogatami
star ocean 4
and eventually god of war 3 and kingdom hearts 3
also you might want to wait a bit cause there's rumors that a 40 gb is comin out for $400 in the holiday season. the ps3 in my opinion has the best future lineup. xbox has halo, wii has smash and ps3 has a whole bunch.

Considering the game library for the PS3, I really don't think it's worth buying right now. Especially when the 360 has more good games - even in genres like RPGs, which were one of the PS2's strengths. Then there's the facts that games that are available on both the PS3 and 360 look and play identical and the fact that the PS3 costs more just makes it more difficult to justify buying.

Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:

Almost a third of XBOX 360 are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%.
Let's compare them

PS3 has 7+1 kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3x2
PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 54 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual DVD (9.5 gb).
Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second
Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second
PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in card reader (except 20 gb version), ability to use printer and so on.
Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.
PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers
Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers
PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)
Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $

Graphics are stronger in PS3, due to RSX chip, that was developed by Nvidia exclusively for PS3. To estimate its power (roughly) - take 8600 Ultra nvidia graphics card, multiply it by 2 - get a result, still PS3 stronger, because 8600 Ultra runs on 400 Mhz and RSX runs on 550 Mhz.

PS3 has a chip from AGEIA company. It does to physics of the game same thing GPU (videocard processor) does to graphics. This card is on sale for PC. The price is around 350$.

Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it.

Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.

In 2008 we'll get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4 and other great exclusives. Here is the great link to the future PS3 releases. http://ps3.ign.com/index/release.html......

PS3 online world will be free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.

In some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".

The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console.

Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years.

I didn't mention Wii, because it's so weak, no point to talk about it.

Depends on who you ask.Think about it,how long has the PS3 been out?How long did the price take to drop? Not long at all.The XBOX 360 was out quite a few years before the price dropped, and even so only dropped fifty bucks on the premium. The PS3 was most widely anticipated for the blu-ray technology,if you've noticed, there is a "war" going on between blu-ray technology(lead by samsung and sony)and HD(high deffinition, lead by toshiba) and toshiba is winning.Blu-ray technology is just too expensive, and unless you havea full 1080 HD tv,your not gonna notice the difference between the blu-ray and HD.Xbox 360 is a better system overall.
