Why is it automatically a bad thing not to beliefe in God? I can ask you backwards.... Would God appriciate a christian that practised christianity above a christian that is a christian for the show?
Buddhists practise something that makes their lifes more happy and constructive. If there is a God - the buddhist are sure to get into heaven - where a lot of Christians are not. Even if buddhists go to hell - they will still be happy there. It is not the environment that descides whether you're happy or not - that buddhists know and can be happy where evere they are.

But buddhists are also happy knowing that there is no God and no heaven or hell. They live their lifes here and now, and in this moment, what matters most is how you handle your life most constructively.

I guess a typical Christian response is that everybody hears about that religion before they die. I would think hearing someone talk about it one time when you are surrounded by a culture that follows Buddhism (it can be a philosophy-way of life) would be an unfair (just) position to put someone in to make the choice that there's only the Christian God. Buddhism believes in everything having an opposite...so at least two of everything-which is in conflict with having only one creator deity (BTW, for Satan to be as powerful as the NT says, he would have to be another deity...contradicting the philosophy that there's only one)
So, when you concentrate on it, the Christian religion has a few holes in it's philosophy.

Not believing in God is only a bad thing if God actually exists.

As for the rest of your question, I have always wondered what Christians say about that. because they claim that you need to "have Jesus in your heart" to get into heaven. And God is supposed to be good and loving. So why would a good and loving god send people to hell for not having him in their heart if they've never even heard of him?

And if God wanted people to have him in their heart, why wouldn't he reveal himself to everyone world wide so that they could know about him, instead of Jesus just showing up in the middle east?

I know exactly what you are getting at..

That only strengthens what I believe. I just wish I wouldl have highlighted and copied what I said in the last post!

If you believe in God.. you have been taught enough to know what "He" is. Would any righteous God condemn an innocent child to "everlasting hellfire" ? Personally, I don't think so... and for the record...

What loving God would...?

If we want to believe that there IS a God..think of this..

What is the meaning of life? HMMM...

No one Knows.. but maybe there is a greater power out there that wants to have company...

God wanted company...

Life, as we know it, is a journey.

We, as human, DIE.. but it doesn't mean we are bound for"everlasting hellfire" as some may presume...

It only means that we die.. and we.. go on..

Who knows how?

How can we judge anyone else who thinks they know how?

None of us know.

And that is FAITH.

I do believe there is a God... but I won't judge anyone's interpretation of it...

We are all human. We have been given the gift to live... souls within.. and we choose to do what we want with them. What happens to us when we die is beyond our comprehention.

Just live the best to your ability.. what your heart tells you is right.. not what you grew up to learn.

If it feels evil, it probably is.. if it feels right.. just believe that there's SOMETHING out there telling you that... learn discernment.

All the best.

who says they don't believe in god? the Buddha is the god! Christians call them Gods, Buddhist call Him Buddha. Christians were brought up believing blindly there is a God, whereas Buddhist believe in the teachings of Buddha, and they can choose to believe or not (talk about freedom of choice!). Christians were forced to believe, like Americans forced to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan, free the people of dictatorship? Wake up! its all for oil, STUPID! DON'T DIE LIKE A FOOL! when american soldiers who died in middle east goes to heaven, GOD sends him straight to hell saying "We made a mistake! we don't take fools!"

Exactly, the true loving God (and there is only one), will not punish ignorance. He knows we are not responsible for what we do not know. That is why he has delayed his 2nd coming for so long. It is so the Gospel can be spread throughout the entire world. This is the mission of the Christian. When we know the gospel and ignore it, that is when we become accountable.

God will have the last say so on that accord and that is why the saints pray everyday for lost souls. God will not end this world until the gospel is preached unto all nations and all mankind is responsible for their own decisions in what they believe.

Isaiah 45:2-6 NKJV) 'I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron. {3} I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the LORD, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel. {4} For Jacob My servant's sake, And Israel My elect, I have even called you by your name; I have named you, though you have not known Me. {5} I am the LORD, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, {6} That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other;

Matthew 24:3-6 & 11:
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Actually, Buddha said that the question of a deity was irrelevant (to nirvana), not that a deity does not exist. There are even Theravada texts where he speaks about meeting the Hindu pantheon. I don't think most Buddhists realize this.

The Bible says...(somewhere, haven't read the thing in a few years) that the blood of the nonbelievers who never heard the truth are on the hands of the faithful, who were charged to take the 'truth' of Jesus to all nations.

Not a Christian, but there you go.
