actually I cheated and bought the potstickers/dumplings already made, ready to cook, but I don't have the dipping sauce to go with them. Anyone got a quick and easy recipe for a dipping sauce.

White vinegar and soy sauce are the best if you have those on hand. Mix either one with a bit of crushed red pepper and there you go. Yum!

Here's the sauce recipe I use.

There is no shame in pre-made, ready to cook....you get a thumbs up from me on taking the initiative to make these yourself and not giving in to fast Chinese pick up. WAY TO GO !!

Dipping Sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce ( I use tamari which can be found at Asian markets or some Health food stores)
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
3 slices green onions

In a small non-metal bowl combine the dipping sauce and set aside to marinate. Best prepared several hours in advance

those are the best.
my parents make a couple of sauces to dip them in. you can either just use plain soy sauce or soy paste (i prefer the paste, but they taste pretty similar)

if u want a little kick with it, chop up garlic into tiny pieces and put it in your soy sauce/paste. let it sit for a couple minutes (like 2,3 so the the garlic soaks in) and you can dip your pot stickers in them

you can also put in rice vinegar with your soy sauce so it isnt as salty.

you can also try the sweet chili that they have in the vietnamese restaurants.

You know the tons of packets of sauces you have left over from chinese food that you don't want to throw out? Mix them all together and you have the perfect dipping sauce.

You can dip them in anything. Soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, rice wine vinegar, hoisin sauce, or even BBQ sauce would work.
