Are you in any kind of financial position/own yur own business?/ etc That you can get your grandchild covered at a fair and reasonable price? and is that legal?
Assuming it IS legal, will it cost you an arm and a leg, and will it , in the long run be worth all the obstacles and headaches? Once your daughter decides to re-marry, etc, or something comes up......what is going to happen if a much needed plan erupts or something else shows up along the way?
What happens if your daughter gets pregnant again or the baby needs some kind of blood transfusion that your insurance policy in NO WAY covers? but that a KY PD plus plan will? etc, etc etc....Im not wording this right, but hopefully, you will get the jist of what i am trying to say

Your daughter should be her own child's legal guardian. Giving legal guardianship to you, even if just in print could cause problems in the future.

If you are in a legal position to not let that affect other issues of your life & other relationships--then you are able to make that decision.
However as for comparisons, you'd be better to get a copy of both plans & sit down & compare them.
Whatever you do--don't do insurance fraud!

if you become the legal guardian youre totally responsible for the baby...meaning your daughter doesnt have to stick around and raise the child....there are several medical programs out there for low income parents....she's your daughter and your grandchild....you shouldnt have to raise your grandchild.

If she is your daughter you do not need to be declared her legal guardian. If you have health coverage all you do is call your insurance and she will be covered from birth.
