My parents said i couldn't date until after High school (college is a bit extreme) but i met my bf during my jr. year. I was completely honest with them, if you've never done anything to make them think that you are untrustworthy then i think its time to explain to your parents that you are ready to date. My parents told me that i needed to have my grades up if i did start dating...i went from a a/b average to a 4.5, my bf supported me and made sure that he got my parents trust. i think you should have been honest from the begining.....telling them that hes your boyfriend is a bigger shock than saying there is a guy that likes you and that you like and that you want there permission to date. How old are you anyway....i mean legally your and adult...and can make your own decisions.

Hi Is
Thats so sweet, you are finally growing up and noticeing that you'r parents are over protective. That migh tnever end even after you finish college. So what ruin a good thing if you adore the guy and have fun why tell you'r parents what they dont need to know. If you are in college youa re surely old enought to date..Geeeeeeeee Tell them to get a life, whats a few boys going to hurt. Serious you can bring hime with you to a party or meeting yoru parents and let them meet him not as a b.f but a good friend from college. Im sure once they see how he acts and is respectful he's yours.

Are your parents paying for your college education? Or was it a verbal agreement that you discussed with your parents before college?
If they asked for you to wait till the last year of college. Is it because by then you will almost be done.Grades maintained to be able to graduate. They would feel you have been determined in your studies and the surrounding college life. They you are a mature adult, and can include a relationship which won't cause you to miss graduating.
Use the best thing ,an honest approach from a matured daughter with grades to back it up!
Good Luck!

In some cultures parents are very very strict. You do have a problem here. If they are paying for your college and all your other expenses they may cut you off if you tell them. You need to think this over very carefully..I am sorry you have to be so secretive. Maybe you can begin by telling them You have fun with a group of nice friends..See what they say about that, then decide what to do next..

Where do you live? At 18 you are an adult and do not need your parents permission to date or do anything else. They will try to control you as long as they can. You also don't say how old you are. It would help to know that.

Sit them down and say : I think you would respect me more if i told you the truth. There this guy and I really like him. I want you to meet him and if you like him could you possibly consider letting me go out and hang with him ocassionally.
They cant be mad at you for being honest and its not like your being demanding or anything.

How old are you? If your in college your parents can go take a flying leap. They have NO control over that aspect of your life anymore.

try bringing him up as a friend at first,
mention all the wonderful things about him
then tell them later that you two are dating
and that HE WOULD LIKE TO MEET THEM
not that you would like him to meet you or anything
other than HIM WANTING TO MEET THEM!
that way they take him as responsible and
charming the minute they know you two are together.

wat u should do: either tell ur parents(cross ur fingers ) and hope that they will agree to meet him to see what a nice guy he is. or dont. and go out with him.
