My fiance is thinking about getting a job as a UPS or Fed Ex driver . . something like that, but he doesn't know how to get into it. Does anyone know how he goes about getting that type of job ? ? Or does anyone know of a decent paying job you can have without a college degree. We want to have a baby but I want to get a little more money before we do.

i work for ups. there are three ways to become a driver. I'm assuming that is what you want to become. One way is to unload/preload for a few years, and by seniority, they ask you to become a driver. However, I've been told that some people can become a driver as early as 6 months if they pester the human resource manager. Secondly, you can become a "manager" of the unloader/preloader, but that is hard to become and even harder to get hired as a driver from that position. Thirdly, the company hires drivers from outside the company which i'm unfamiliar how that works. That process is less frequent than getting hired as a preloader.

Prison guards usually get paid pretty decent or you can always go to school. It only takes 2 years to get an A.A. at a community college which can provide some opportunity for good paying jobs. Good Luck.

Sure do. Go to their websight. Find your area and sign up. It isnt that often that they will hire a driver right off the street but it happens sometimes. Your fience will more than likely have to work part time for a while. Until a spot comes open anyway. ... Hope this helps
