Err, or I could use the word poop, for you less literate people. ><
When I poop, I always notice a little bit of light red blood in the toilet paper. It isn't flowing dark blood, so I'm not really worried about it, but is there something wrong with me?

Something that needs a doctor's attention; probably a hemorrhoid.

First if it is bright red then you probably have hemorrhoids, a scar that creates swelling in the anal canal and so restricts the process of elimination; if it is darker or if it is not a hemorrhoid then it could be the sign of an internal injury, cancer, and infection or something similar. Regardless of what it is that is serious enough to warrant a visit to the doctors.

Finding blood in your stool is not uncommon and does happen from time to time, but if you start to see a lot or a pattern then that is an important clue to something serious being wrong.

It sounds like you might have a hemorrhoid, which can be minor, but if not treated the swelling can make it harder to go to the bathroom and very uncomfortable, if it is allowed to go on long enough then you may have to resort to surgery to fix it (I know from first hand experience).

Have you been having any trouble going to the bathroom, or any pain? You will need to see a proctologist (doctor who specializes in the rear end) to have an exam to find out what is going on. If the blood is on the tissue then it is more likely to be a hemorrhoid. This isn't a major issue, but it requires prompt attention.

If you notice blood on the toilet paper you should feel pain too if the injury is external while wiping. It never is flowing or it would soil your clothes and you would know. If it is flowing inside the stools would have clotted dark blood in them. Try washing the area and applying some neosporin ointment to heal the rupture a couple of times and check again. If the blood persists then you might have to consult a doctor with the sample paper.

It might be the cause of hemorrhoids, or that when you are taking a poop :) you are forcing it to come out. Eating food with lots of fiber can help reduce this problem.

Interesting. I had the same thing when I had food poisoning in Scotland from bad chicken/mayo.
I was in a lot of pain and had a fever. I think you should go see a doctor right away.

Your stool may be hard. You can try using stool softeners. This can lead to hemorroids if it hasn't already.

maybe you get constipated and need to drink more fluid or eat more fiber. maybe you wipe too much or too hard. maybe you sit to much or push too hard when you deficate. maybe you have yeast and it irritates your butt and you need some monistat.
