It's not like I'm Rainman lol or socially unept, I'm actually very outgoing, I have friends and almost 100 of aquaintces, go out with friends to bars, I admit I'm very popular with the guys around here, about to go to college have an active love and sex life, just like every 19 year old girl. that's the one part that puts it out of the picture. but why I ask, when I was born and given immunty shots instead of my immune system figting out the unatural substances as intended it all went straight to my brain instead, and this a rare case that is known as the main cause to autism today. They though I was when I was an infant because I was seperating colors and aranging patterns at 5mos. but I was because I'm borderline genius, which can be a ***** lol. I have a few ocd habits nothing big just stupid little things that don't totally alter my life, but do I have a rare case of autism or just a rare case period? I'm not upset about this, just curious and wanting to hear different opinions :)

It definitely sounds like you do not have autism. It's possible that you could have asperger's syndrome which is still on the autism spectrum, but people with Asperger's are typically very high functioning and can do pretty well socially. A lot of people with aspergers are actually diagnosed as adults. If you really want to know, go to a doctor. Or if you are just curious, pick up a book on the subject.
You sound like you are doing very well with your life, but it might not be a bad idea to find out more about it. There is a genetic link, so if you have it, there is a small chance that your children could also have it. If you are well informed now, you will have a much better chance of giving your children the best chance to succeed.

Well I'm going to say from my knowledge of Autism that I have learned while working on my Masters in Special Ed that you don't have Autism. It's possible that you have another disorder that falls on the Autism Spectrum Disorder or even Autism like characteristics or like you mentioned OCD.

Autism is usually diagnosed because socially or communication wise someone is so severe that it is impairing with their normal lives. As far as I know shoots are not proven to cause autism, it's just a possible correlation.

If you can live and function normally I wouldn't really worry about it.

Look into Aspergers- It is an Autism Spectrum Disorder. My son has it- very mild- he is outgoing as well, which is not typical of a sever case. Could be nothing, but maybe this can give you a jump on thing to discuss with a doctor. But honestly- Autism and autistic disorders are only problematic if they interfere with your life- sounds like you are doing ok ;)

Autism is not caused by children getting their shots... There was a time when it was speculated , because children stopped talking soon after their 18month old shots.
there is no scientific evidence to support this claim. You do not at all seem to fit the profile of a individual on the autistic spectrum. however, if your still not convinced do your own research on Autism .
Best wishes to you.

You have all the symptoms of being a genius, and none of being autistic. I have a son who has PDD (really close to autism), and he's nothing like you.

Genius, as a loving mom I have to remind you of one thing--use a condom. I won't try to talk you out of your sex life, just make sure there's a condom, and better yet, get on the pill, too, or use spermicidal foam or jelly. We don't want an unplanned preg to ruin your college career, right?

Based on what you've said, you have a mild case of curiosity and boredom that can be relieved only by reading up on autism, genius, and vaccinations...or by having fun with all your thousands of friends and forgetting about it. You don't seem one bit autistic.
