How can they say that Hitler was an atheist when he has gone on the record making these statements:

"National Socialism and religion cannot exist together" (1941)

"The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity." (1941)

"Let it NOT be said that Christianity brought man the life of the soul, for that evolution was in the natural order of things." (1941)

"Christianity is an invention of sick brains: one could imagine nothing more senseless." (1941)

"We'll see to it that the Churches cannot spread abroad teachings in conflict with the interests of the State." (1941)

Also, Hitler told Hermann Rauschnig that he inten"to stamp out Christianity root and branch." (1933)

He also said: "One is either a Christian or a German -you cannot be both"

So why do people still say he was an atheist?

It is well known he was an evolutionist and Survival of Species gave him his justification to eliminate 'inferior races'.

The quotes you presented makes him sound just like the atheists who mock God here on Q & A....I'm sure they can identify with him.

You are confused of the definition of Atheist. Hitler did not believe in God. He believed in the perfection of people. This is not a religion. Some people think he hated only Jewish people. He was disgusted by anyone not pure and anyone not healthy and the most fit, like Charles Darwin's theory. He deplored anyone with a thought of God and anyone who declared God as a savior. He was by all means a demon against God. He did not have a religion. He had a thought of socialism which is a political view, not a religion.

He was however a great leader had he not have ranted and gone crazy in his later years. He helped the German people through tough times. It's the real reason so many Germans had a tough time seeing Hitler for his atrocities. They saw him for his kindness.

If you had a father who saved your life, could you see him as a killer later? It would be hard, wouldn't it?

Following is from the source:
Hitler seeking power, wrote in Mein Kampf. "... I am convinced that I am acting as the agent of our Creator. By fighting off the Jews. I am doing the Lord's work." Years later, when in power, he quoted those same words in a Reichstag speech in 1938.

Three years later he informed General Gerhart Engel: "I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so." He never left the church, and the church never left him.

Those who would make Hitler an atheist should turn their eyes to history books before they address their pews and microphones. Acclaimed Hitler biographer, John Toland, explains his heartlessness as follows: "Still a member in good standing of the Church of Rome despite detestation of its hierarchy, he carried within him its teaching that the Jew was the killer of god. The extermination, therefore, could be done without a twinge of conscience since he was merely acting as the avenging hand of god..."

Because the can not "believe" that such an evil person would be a christian, Now since atheists are already "known" to be evil, that's what he must of been. He also said I am now and have always been a cathlic. I see you forgot that one.

Christians will say Hitler was not a Christian, despite his claims to be one, because of his actions.

I say if one identifies him/herself as Christian, they are a Christian. They claim being Christian doesn't mean they are perfect, but they claim anyone who ISN'T perfect "isn't a true Christian"...

You never hear an atheist say someone isn't a true atheist. We welcome anyone. We WILL say someone is a horrible human being... but we don't blame that on their religious beliefs.

We were convinced that the people need and require this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out".

"For their interests [the Church's] cannot fail to coincide with ours [the National Socialists] alike in our fight against the symptoms of degeneracy in the world of to-day, in our fight against a Bolshevist culture, against atheistic movement, against criminality, and in our struggle for a consciousness of a community in our national life".

Yeah sounds like an atheist, doesn't he.
You flog.

Because the first rule of the Internet is to compare your opponent's arguments to Hitler.

Don't like vegetarians? Hitler was one, I win

Against gun control? Hitler imposed gun control, thus you want to take my gun and kill jews. I win.

For hard-core midget porn? Hitler was against porn, thus you hate gypsies and I'm not going to sit here and argue with a gypsy-hating, retard killer like you, Mr. Hitler Jr. I win

I find all of those statements interesting considering that one of the Nazi propaganda points was that the Jews had killed Christ. Makes you wonder why they hated them so much if Christianity was so conflicting with the interests of the Reich. Then again none of that garbage really makes sense does it?

Hitler was good old fashioned crazy. He had delusions of grandeur and was paranoid beyond all belief. He was actually fascinated witht he occult (NOT paganism) and was just warped in general.

I have never heard anyone say he was a atheist. I could not fathom why anyone would say that unless they thought that was a insult. It is not a insult, a way of life for many. He was evil..

Who cares what his belief was! He was an demonic tyrant who should have been burned at the stake. People like him do not deserve any type of notoriety.
