Why are christians and non christians stuck on the traditional answer rather than the Biblical one?
They keep asking what sin puts someone in hell. Or variations thereof, like why would God send a sinner to hell when we all sin? Or why would a homosexual go to hell?
Can't folks, christians and non christians realize, that no one goes to hell for a sin (well there are some minor exceptions, discussed below), but folks go to hell because they rejected Christ.
The Bible says Jesus died for all sins. Those who don't accept Christ, still have their sins paid for, but haven't aquired the free gift of that wonderful grace.
The only acceptions are these. Jesus said there is 1 unforgivable sin, the blasphemy of the Holy spirit. But that sin, is the rejection of Christ, because the Holy spirit leads folks to Christ.
Also some christians lose their salvation, but unlike those in the OSAS camp, its not as easy as they claim.

Perhaps because the consequences of this doctrine are dire, and it doesn't gibe with most people's sense of justice, whatever that means for them. Punishment is a behavioral term and it is used to alter behavior in some way. When it lasts literally for all time, the person is given no chance to exhibit a new behavior, and the "punishment" is therefore torture. That completely contradicts the other foundational doctrine of a loving God, as I'm sure it does for most people who don't consciously wish torture on those who disagree with them. As long as it's part of the teachings of a religion, hell will always be a primary talking point. What is it? Where is it? How can I avoid going there? Just based on time scale, your life in heaven or hell is infinitely more important than your life on Earth. It stands to reason that people obsess over it and ask the same questions repeatedly.

Really? I hardly notice any questions about hell. Maybe one per night, that's about it. How long are you on? Like do people email you about this problem or something? You certainly are entitled to your opinion, but unless you're a theologian or something, what makes you think I or anyone else will believe your interpretation?

The Bible says that a tree that bears no fruit is thrown into the fire. Sounds to me that not only can you go to hell for sinning but also for not doing good.

funny question your giving us, if we reject God and the Holy spirit we go to hell right?
what about us Satanists?
we embrace the fact that there is a God out there and we have a goal to overthrow him and his subjects when the day of reckoning comes.
if we do go to hell for rejecting God where in Satan's name do Satanists go? WTF???
because as a Satanist it is a crucial fact that we acknowledge God and that if we don't there would be no us, because as of right now before the second coming there has to be a balance, a good and evil, without evil there is no definition of good and vice versa, that is until one side eventually wins.
so please contemplate on that issue for me >:)
cheers!

Someone helped me with the "Hell Question" by saying, "You know, I don't think there is a Hell. In order for Hell to exist, there would have to be a place where there is no God."
By the way, you left the "g" out of the middle when you spelled your avatar's name.

so true i also believe that "Once saved, Always Saved"(except for when the end of days come and the mark of the beast, but that is for another time:)
BUT, does that mean it is alright for a Christian to be gay....No, what if some gay couple that happen to be "Christians" goes to heaven? will they spend eternity together?...or the real questions is ... to have that kind of mind-set, Were they really saved/Christians to begin with??
GOD BLESS ALL
.PEACE.

"God says do what you wish, but make the wrong choice and you will be tortured for eternity in hell. That sir, is not free will. It would be akin to a man telling his girlfriend, do what you wish, but if you choose to leave me, I will track you down and blow your brains out. When a man says this we call him a psychopath and cry out for his imprisonment/execution. When god says the same we call him 'loving' and build churches in his honor. " — William C. Easttom IIt.
"He prayed on Fridays with the Muslims, on Saturdays with the Jews and on Sundays with the Christians. 'Since each religion claims that it is the only true one and that the others are invalid', the king explained, 'I have decided to hedge my bets'." — Ibn Rustah (10th century) about a king of the Caucasus.

So not believing in christ puts people in a place that he created to put people who don't believe in him. Feel the love of an egotistical jerk.
