How did you lose them. If you don't know where you filed them, do a search for all .jpg files (or .bmp or whatever). Look for all files and folders on the C drive by typing in *.jpg

If they were modified recently, you can limit the search to one week, or one month, etc. You can also limit the search by searching only in "My Documents" or wherever you file your photos.

If you deleted them a short tiem ago and have not done writing to your computer since you can recover them. Otherwise since "deleting" just marks a files memory as empty the next thing you wrote could have taken some of that memory and reused it (which would wreck the picture file).

Look for DiskInternalsUneraser on the web. It costs about forty bucks and they will do a free trial over the web in which they will go to your disk and look for the pictures and get them (but not save them for free). If you are convinced you can buy the program, download it and use it forever on picture files (or any other clobbered files). Try some of the others on the web to see if they can get your files back. From what I have seen no free program will do a real recovery job (if they had worked I would not have spent forty bucks on this one out of desperation).

Go to start, search, and type in the name of the pictures. If they didn't have names you can go to the documents tab for recently viewed files.

Another way is to go to start, search and type in *.jpg, or *.gif and the computer will look throughout the hard drive for pictures.

Don't be surprised what you may find if you share that PC with other people.

Good luck
